16 Handsets N-40 series The N-40 series handsets combine a hard-wearing mechanical design with outstanding acoustic and electrical properties. The excellent RFI/EMI immunity is a particular feature. The N-40 series complies with EN 50121-3-2 requirements (Railway Applications – Electromagnetic Compatibility). It is housed in a rugged, high-impact plastic body. The housing and connecting lead are made of halogen-free, flame-retardant and self-extinguishing plastic rated UL-94 V-0. Plug-in connections are provided between handset, coiled cable and cradle for easy interchange of the individual components. The flexible design of the new handset means that it can be customised precisely to specific project requirements. A choice of cradles makes it easier to find the right model for the given conditions. All cradles include a cradle switch (expect the low-profile cradle for the N-40N). On request, the N-40 series can be delivered with cable acc. to NF F 16-101. 17 N-40SR Units, handsets and cradles Handsets For mobile use The N-40SR is designed for mobile use, in particular for railway and emergency services. The noise-cancelling microphone enables good speech quality even in noisy driving conditions. The generous PTT button is easy to reach. When not in use, the handset remains securely in the cradle – even when the vehicle accelerates sharply – thanks to a firm retaining mechanism. The release button in the handset works intuitively. The cradles include a cradle switch. In addition to the standard cradle, a compact single-ended cradle is available that takes up very little space. The handset is connected to the cradle. A 9-pin D-sub male connector is provided underneath the cradle as the interface to the customer‘s equipment.
