EC Boston seeks qualified, outgoing individuals interested in doing one or more of the roles defined below. These roles<br />

can be done as separate internships or in combination with one another as they all overlap in capacities of Student<br />

Services and business administration.<br />

Activities Coordinator and Student Ambassador Tasks<br />

Students’ comfort and satisfaction are our priority. While partaking in tasks related to Activities Coordination and<br />

Student Ambassador, interns would assist the EC Boston team to promote all aspects of student welfare. Therefore, a<br />

strong customer service approach and a positive, friendly attitude are a must to ensure quality service. In this role one<br />

must have close attention to detail and work well in a team orientated environment.<br />

Working to promote all aspects of student services offered at EC Boston including, but not limited to:<br />

Develop monthly activity calendar by working with teachers and staff to coordinate events and activities.<br />

Update activity binder and create flyers/promotional materials and sign-up sheets for each activity and for schoolwide<br />

events. This includes: Date/time/location/cost/directions<br />

Recruit for and manage the EC Boston Student Ambassador program<br />

Organize our weekly student raffle<br />

Help to develop EC Boston’s web presence by creating 1 blog and 1 Facebook post per week, along with encouraging<br />

student feedback on my language travel website.<br />

Support the EC Boston team with Monday check in procedure, including collection of documents, processing of<br />

paperwork, new student welcome breakfast and orientation<br />

Assist the EC Boston team in the entering of student evaluations<br />

Act as a member of the team by offering general support to the office staff and filing as needed<br />

Transportation Coordination<br />

and work well in a team orientated environment.<br />

Working to promote all aspects of student services offered at EC Boston including, but not limited to:<br />

Coordinate the bookings of all arrival/departure transfers in accordance to pre-booked requirements as well as<br />

handling transfer requests from students currently in school<br />

Work closely with Transportation Company to ensure that all arrival and departure transfers are smooth and are being<br />

carried out in compliance with EC’s standard of service<br />

Follow up with any student complaints regarding the airport transfer service<br />

Monitor bi-weekly invoices and ensure that accurate payment is processed<br />

Keep emergency phone binder up-to-date with all arrival and departure information<br />

Assist the EC Boston team with Monday check in procedure, including collection of documents, processing of<br />

paperwork, new student welcome breakfast and orientation<br />

Building of welcome packets<br />

Assist the EC Boston team in the entering of student evaluations<br />

Potential off-site duties as needed to assist with our Junior Program<br />

Act as a member of the team by offering general support to the office staff and filing as needed<br />

Conversation Partners Coordination<br />

Conversation Partners is a unique EC Boston program that is designed to heighten cultural experiences and exchanges of<br />

students and community members alike. Students who want to maximize their English experience will apply for this<br />

program and be selectively paired with a native Boston resident. A successful match allows students to expand their<br />

grasp of the English language beyond the classroom and to become fully immersed in their new surroundings and to<br />

have an authentic Boston experience!<br />

Working to promote all aspects of student services offered at EC Boston including, but not limited to:<br />

Track and file applications from students and volunteers<br />

Recruit new volunteers by attending volunteer fairs at local universities, posting in local businesses, and online, etc.<br />

Interview volunteers (by phone) and complete reference checks for volunteers<br />

Match students with volunteer partners<br />

Plan and participate in session kick-off event<br />

Lead group orientation and individual orientations<br />

Liaise with partners when there are problems (missed meetings, feeling mismatched or uncomfortable, schedule<br />

conflicts)<br />

Send out mid-point evaluations, end-of-session surveys and organize replies<br />

Coordinate student testimonials to post to the blog, 1 blog and 1 Facebook post (with photo) is required weekly<br />

Support the EC Boston team with Monday check in procedure, including collection of documents, processing of<br />

paperwork, new student welcome breakfast and orientation (schedule permitting)<br />

Send out attendance warning reminders to students as needed<br />

Assist the EC Boston team by entering student evaluations, filing, and offering general support as needed<br />

Academic Assistance<br />

Specific Responsibilities in this role:<br />

Working in the student library, helping ESL students choose and check out books and study materials<br />

Tracking student attendance and grades<br />

Helping students with general enquiries and supporting ESL Teachers and Conversation club<br />

General Responsibilities<br />

Ensuring a high level of customer service for our international students when they have questions or concerns about<br />

their levels, classes, session breaks, activities, course extensions or course changes, etc.<br />

Required Skills • Completion of at least 1 year of undergraduate program<br />
