Mr. CRANSTON introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred<br />

to the Select Committee on Indian Affairs<br />

A BILL<br />

To partition certain reservation lands between the <strong>Hoopa</strong> Valley<br />

Tribe and the Yurok Indians, to clarify the use of tribal<br />

timber proceeds, and for other purposes.<br />

1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-<br />

2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,<br />

3 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE AND DEFINITIONS.<br />

(a) SHORT TITLE.—This Act may be cited as the<br />

~ “<strong>Hoopa</strong>-Yurok Settlement Act”.<br />

6 (b) DEFINITIONS.—For the purposes of. this Act, the<br />

7 term—<br />

8 (1) “Escrow funds” means the moneys derived<br />

9 from the joint reservation which are held in trust by<br />

10 the Secretary in the accounts entitled—
