"Emotional Labor of Public School Faculty" (Planning)
The primary purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between emotional labor
(regulation of emotions on the job) and Emotional Exhaustion to job satisfaction,
organizational commitment and job burnout. We hope to be able to examine how emotional
labor requirements of P-12 faculty influence job satisfaction, organizational commitment and
burn out on the job. By examination of these variables we hope to provide a better
understanding of the work environment and hope to be able to develop interventions or
strategies that can be employed to assist faculty in person – environment fit, combat job burn
out and career development.

the emotional labor requirements of their respective positions, and its relationship to
organizational outcomes such as job satisfaction and organizational commitment
