The Locktronics microcontroller allows
students to undertake a wide range of studies
in technology and modern applied science.
The unit is based on a PICmicro® microcontroller
and is compatible with our Flowcode 3
graphical programming software.
Three selector switches on the Locktronics
microcontroller allow students to make a
choice of one of 8 programs built into the unit.
Students then assemble the corresponding
Locktronics circuit and carry out the appropriate
experiment. The 8 projects are: Logic
control with an AND circuit, Logic control with
an NAND circuit, Energy/current monitor,
Thermistor control with a comparator, Motor
speed control, Timer, and Waveform generator.
Students can progress further in the subject by
using Flowcode software to design a program,
simulate the program’s operation, and then
download it to the microcontroller via USB. The
unit has 4 input/output connections which can
be programmed to be either inputs or outputs.
