II. Clinical applications of endoscope in ophthalmology<br />
A. Indications of endoscopy in posterior segment of the eye<br />
i. Retinal pathology with significant media opacity<br />
ii. Imaging of areas inaccessible to conventional viewing system<br />
iii. Assist in scleral fixation of intraocular lens<br />
iv. In severe ocular trauma especially in cases with intraocular<br />
foreign body.<br />
v. Endoscope assisted pars plana vitrectomy in endophthalmitis.<br />
B. Indications of endoscopy in anterior segment of the eye<br />
i. Diagnostic endoscopy prior to penetrating keraoplasty<br />
ii. In assisting with phacoemulsification in eyes with<br />
corneal opacity<br />
