Objective: To update regarding recent advances in corneal
transplantation surgery - anterior and posterior lamellar
Summary of Content: Corneal transplantation surgery has
witnessed revolutionary change over the past decade. Anterior
thickness keratoplasty is no longer the first choice of surgical
procedure for certain corneal disorders. This video based course
will cover all aspects of lamellar corneal surgery, right from donor
tissue preparation, step by step approach of surgical procedures,
managing complications, and surgery in difficult situations.
Course attendees will have an overview of both anterior and
posterior lamellar corneal surgical procedures, and will be able
to apply the knowledge gained in their clinical practice. Corneal
surgeons will be able to gain insight into details of surgical
technique which will help them make a smooth transition from
full thickness corneal transplantation surgery to lamellar
corneal procedures.
