environment, since the only way to clear the config is to use the write-erase command,
reload, and then somehow enter the new configuration. This is time-consuming and
clumsy, to use nice words.
Rollback is supported on Nexus 5000s using NX-OS version
5.0(2)N1(1) and later.
Nexus allows us to roll back the entire box—VDCs and all—to a previously saved
point. I’ve saved some configuration checkpoints, but before we list them, let’s create
a new one:
NX-7K-2# checkpoint 100526-1 description Before VDC Re-order
...............................Done
You can view your saved checkpoints with the rollback running-config check
point exec command. This is not a config-mode command:
NX-7K-2# rollback running-config checkpoint
100526-1 Checkpoint name
GAD Checkpoint name
Clean Checkpoint name
You can also get details about each saved checkpoint by using the show checkpoint
summary command:
