In the third chapter of the book of Revelation you will find this marvelous
concept summed up in that exquisite verse where Jesus is portrayed as a
suppliant outside the door of somebody’s heart.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and
open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with
me” (Revelation 3:20).
What an indescribably beautiful picture! The Son of God, creator of the
heavens and the earth, supreme lawgiver and eternal lover, pleading gently,
eagerly, with one of His humblest creatures! He knocks, He calls, waiting
and hoping.
“Open the door,” He asks. “Please let Me in.”
