ETHS SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS
WELCOME TO E.T.H.S. ATHLETICS!
Home to 35 IHSA State Championships and countless Top 10 finishes, the ETHS Athletic
program is regarded as one of the best in the state of Illinois. With twelve gyms including historic
Beardsley Gym, the Burton Aquatic Center, a designated gymnastics training center, three weight
rooms, a fieldhouse, outdoor track, four baseball and softball diamonds, eleven outdoor tennis
courts and eight athletic fields including legendary Lazier Field at Memorial Stadium, Evanston's
athletic facilities have few rivals.
But more than the championships and the facilities, the driving force behind Evanston Athletics is
the commitment of our coaches and the effort of our athletes. We hope you'll join the tradition of
ETHS Athletics this summer by making that same effort to train and learn from some of the best
coaches in high school athletics.
PHILOSOPHY
ETHS Summer Sports Camps are designed to provide the student-athletes in our community with
a foundation of fundamental skills, knowledge, character and leadership development, and love
for athletics. Recognizing that while skills and drills are critical to the improvement of an athlete,
making the sport FUN is essential to developing the “passion for the game.” With sixteen different
sports, representing twenty-five different high school athletic programs, we hope that athletes take
advantage of the wide variety of athletic opportunities and register for multiple sports. This type
of cross training not only helps to develop overall athleticism, it keeps sports fresh and exciting.
CAMP STAFF
Every camp and clinic is directed by the Head Coach in that sport (unless otherwise stated in the
camp description). In addition, assistant coaches along with current and former top performers from
the program work with the athletes to make sure they have the fundamentals, focus, and fun to
improve their games.
AGE LEVELS
There are camp opportunities for elementary through high school students. Age levels are based on
grade levels for the UPCOMING school year (2013-2014). Every ETHS camp has different age
group offerings, so read the camp description carefully.
FINANCIAL AID
Thanks to the support of Whole Foods Market ® , ETHS continues to provide financial
assistance, based on need, to campers living in School Distict 202. Please see page 17 for
