Junior Varsity Boys
Basketball (2–12)
The Boys Junior Varsity Basketball
team had a challenging but successful
and rewarding year. The
team faced obstacles but continued
to work together and demonstrate
a positive attitude in the face of
adversity. They represented themselves
and Cushing in a way that we
can all be proud of.
Junior Varsity 2 Boys
Basketball (5–7)
The JV2 squad had a memorable season.
They worked hard and ended
the season with a three-game winning
streak, including wins against
Deerfield, Lawrence, Groton,
Wilbraham, and Eaglebrook.
Varsity Boys Basketball (21–7)
The Cushing boys basketball team
played a strong schedule within
the NEPSAC Class AA division, one
of the most competitive leagues
in the country. The team won two
games at the National Prep School
Invitational, an event that features
30 of the best prep programs in the
country, and qualified for the postseason
for the sixth straight year.
As a three seed, the boys unfortunately
lost in the quarterfinals to a
solid Saint Andrew’s squad.
Varsity Girls Basketball (13–8)
The Girls Varsity Basketball program
capped off another successful
season, earning an eighth straight
appearance in the Class B New England
tournament. Having graduated
six seniors and three captains
from last year’s squad, this season
could easily have been a rebuilding
year. Seven of the team’s eight
losses came at the hands of opponents
ranked in the top 5 of Class
A or Class B. The team repeated as
the Lawrence-Groton Christmas
tournament champions and earned
another trip to the New England
playoffs.
College Basketball recruiters
eye Cushing player
All eyes on Kaleb Joseph ’14—the rising junior continues
to capture the attention of college basketball recruiters
across the country. Lists just released from ESPN (#53) and
Scout.com (#42) show him among the top in the nation.
