Housing 

14-gauge formed aluminum sheet metal construction. 

24-gauge formed aluminum reflector. Mineral bronze 

fi nish (Cardinal #T025-BR01) is standard, with custom 

colors available. The ballast can be serviced without 

removing the lamps or reflector. 

Reflector 

24-gauge (.020-in) formed aluminum sheet metal 

construction. Polished spectral fi nish. 95% specular 

reflectance. 

Electrical 

A removable 12-ft (3.7-m) power cord with a NEMA 

5-15P plug is standard. Other plug types are available 

as options. The fi xture is protected by an externally 

removable fuse with onboard spare. 

Switch 

On 4-lamp fixtures, a three-position switch allows for 

2-lamp or 4-lamp operation and on/off operation. 

Ballasts 

Ballasts are available for 120V, 230V or 277V 50-60 Hz 

operation. Ballasts are high-frequency electronic with a 

power factor > .97%, Class A sound rating, a THD, 10%. 

Dimming fi xtures may be controlled by a low-voltage (0 to 

+10VDC) analog source, by line-voltage dimmer, by DALI 

digital, or DMX-512. A converter is available to change 

DMX-512 to DALI to drive the digital fi xtures. 

Lamps 

(4) 55W/21T5/2G11RS 3000°K available with 10,000 

hour rated life; 3200°K & 5600°K available with 8,000 

hour rated life.

Accessories and Control 

DMX-DALI Protocol Converter 

The DMX TO DALI Protocol Converter is intended to dim DALI (Digital 

Addressable Lighting Interface) fl uorescent ballasts from a source of 

DMX-512. In addition, it has a Manual Mode which allows the ballasts to 

be intensity controlled without a DMX signal source. It is intended for use 

with Brightline SeriesONE DALI fl uorescent fi xtures. 

Each Converter has four (4) individually controllable opto-isolated DALI 

ballast output channels. Each output channel is capable of driving up to 

six (6) individual ballasts. Each channel output is connected to a female 

XLR-3 type connector. 

The DMX Start Address can be set to values of 1 to 512. Four 

consecutive DMX Addresses shall be read. Address selection is made by 

a pair of Up-Down recessed push-button switches. As the switches are 

recessed, they are not susceptible to being inadvertently altered. 

For testing purposes, it is possible to dim the connected fi xtures without 

the presence of a DMX control signal (Manual Mode). Levels on all 

four channels can be set from 1% to full intensity. It is not necessary to 

disconnect the Converter from the DMX signal source to perform this 

function. 

An LED shows the status of the incoming DMX signal. It indicates 

whether the signal is missing, if there is an error in the signal, or it is OK. 

Another LED indicates whether the converter is in Run or Manual Mode. 

The Protocol Converter is available in 120VAC 60Hz. or 230VAC 50 Hz. It 

has a removable 12-ft (3.6-m) power cord with a parallel-blade U-ground

The CycSeries fi xture line consists of two basic units, one with six lamps and the other with twelve lamps. 

Both use 28W Single Phosphor T5 lamps with color sleeves. Master fixtures have DMX intensity control; the 

DMX Address can be set anywhere between 1 and 512. 

Remote fi xtures are offered for applications where groups of fi xtures all change colors together; the DMX 

addressing is set by a Master fixture. Remote fixtures may also be controlled by the two most common digital 

ballast protocols, DALI or DSI. 

The units can be dimmed to 3% intensity with no flickering, dropouts or other anomalies. 

Both vertical and horizontal yokes are offered for grid or stand mounting. The fi xture comes with a C-clamp,

digital ballast control protocols, DALI or DSI. The DMX address can be set anywhere between 1 and 512.

The connectors are designed so the fi xtures can be tandem-wired with no space between them. They can be

Advanced Motorized Positioning Capability 

Brightline has introduced second-generation motor capability to 

our T-Series fi xtures. Adding a motor module provides the T-Series 

fi xtures with self-contained and independently addressable motion 

capability, which enables rotating the luminaire lamp carriage 

from its horizontal axis to angular positions through +/-50 degrees 

from the down-light position with 1-degree incremental resolution. 

T-Series fi xtures so equipped are stand-alone “nodes”, which may 

also be interconnected via 6-conductor data cable with RJ-25 plugs 

to comprise a “node control network”. The “node control network” 

facilitates simultaneously orienting more than 100 luminaires within a 

span of a few seconds. Luminaire node control networks are typically 

supervised by AV/building automation controllers, via serial protocol 

RS-232/RS-422. 

Onboard memory provides for up to 60 unique scenes on a 

node control network of up to 1000 feet total length in standard 

confi guration. Special confi gurations for greater network lengths are 

possible upon request. 

Motor modules accept universal single-phase AC power (120-230- 

VAC 50/60Hz) and draw approximately 12 Watts.

DALI BusMaster 

The DALI BusMaster is an integral DALI Power Supply and 

Programming Interface. It provides the DC voltage for the 

DALI bus and it allows for programming and control of DALI 

Ballasts through an RS-232 Serial Computer Interface. 

DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is an international standard for controlling fl uorescent ballasts and other 

devices. DALI ballasts are assigned an address by which they receive control commands. Up to 64 ballasts may be 

controlled on a DALI signal bus. The ballast only responds to commands addressed to it; therefore, the wiring topology 

is simple: a pair of wires transmit the signals to the fi xtures. The DALI control wiring may be daisy-chained from fi xture 

to fi xture; they may be wired in a star fashion, all going back to a single wiring point; or any combination of the two. 

DALI ballasts are also capable of sending digital codes as well. It is possible to send a query to the ballasts on a 

signal bus to determine if any lamps have failed, or if there are any other problems with the system. 

The BusMaster has an internal current-limited DC power supply that powers the data bus. The unit is capable of 

outputting 150 ma of DC power. The included external power supply is intended for 120V 60 Hz usage. 

The RS-232 interface allows fi xtures on the DALI data bus to be programmed and controlled by a Windows 

Personal Computer running WinDIM software. WinDIM can control the system, and can serve as a confi guration 

tool. In addition, any device that has controllable RS-232 ports, such as an Audio-Visual Processor, can also 

control the system. The BusMaster is confi gured as a DTE device; therefore, a null-modem cable (supplied) is 

required. It operates at 19.2kb/sec. 

The BusMaster can be hooked to the DALI bus either by its (removable) two-pin connector; or by the RJ-11 

receptable. 

The BusMaster Kit consists of the BusMaster, a 120V or 230V power supply and a null-modem cable. The Kit 

also includes a CD with WinDIM software.

DALI BusMaster 

Win-Dim Software 

WinDIM Software is intended to be used with the DALI BusMaster or the DALI Serial Programming Interface. It helps the installer confi gure a 

DALI System and after confi guration provides for a user interface to control DALI Fixtures, Groups and Scenes. 

If the DALI Lighting System was purchased without Control Stations or other methods of setting the lighting looks, WinDIM can operate on a 

Windows PC. WinDIM runs in the background and adds an icon to the System Tray. The user can make changes to a Group or to a Scene 

online. After the changes have been made, the program will go back to operating in the background. 

Confi guration 

The fi rst step in confi guring a DALI system is to make sure that all of the ballasts are addressed properly. As you confi gure the fixtures, make a 

note of the addresses. 

In complex installations, you may want to add the fi xtures to Groups. A Group consists of one or more fi xtures that will always have the same 

lighting level. Using Groups can simplify the setup procedure. WinDIM provides a graphic tool to assign the fi xtures to groups. A DALI System 

can have up to 16 Groups; WinDIM allows you to assign names to your groups if you wish. 

A Scene on DALI is a lighting “look” that can be chosen by the user for 

a specifi c purpose. Once a Scene is selected, the dimming levels of 

the fi xtures assigned to that Scene are selected and the dimming levels 

of the fi xtures assigned to that Scene are recalled and set. As with the 

Groups, WinDIM provides a tool to set up and record Scenes. Up to 16 

Scenes can be set. 

Operation 

As mentioned above, WinDIM can be used as the primary controller 

for a DALI system. The screen to the right shows what you will see on 

your computer monitor. The buttons labeled G1 through G16 allow for 

control of the Groups. When a Group button is selected, its color will 

change from grey to green, indicating that it is active. 

Using the pull-down box labeled “Go to Scene”, make a selection. The 

lights will go to the levels set for that Scene. Selecting other Scenes 

will make the lights go to the new levels. The use of the four arrow 

buttons in the center allows you to temporarily override the levels in 

the Scene. The On/Off button allows you to toggle the lights On or Off. 

If you don’t want a Group to be involved in changes you are making, 

deselect the Group number. For example, if Group2 is not selected, 

its fi xtures will not react to the “Go to Scene” command. 

The Properties button opens a series of Tab Pages that are used in 

the Confi guration process as described above. 

Clicking anywhere on your monitor outside of the WinDIM box “hides” this display, and returns to normal Windows 

operation. 

System Status 

You can query all of the fi xtures on a DALI bus for any operational errors. WinDIM will indicate any error conditions that 

exist. For example, if a lamp is faulty, it will be reported back. 

Light Over Time 

One of the useful functions of WinDIM is the Light Over Time mode. It allows for up to fi ve groups of lights to dynamically 

change intensities of the groups that follow the values set on the graph. This function is particularly valuable when used 

with Red, Green, Blue or Red, Green, Blue, White color-changing fl uorescent fi xtures.

Construction 

Die-formed, cold-rolled steel housing. Aluminum louvers. 

Fixture can be used in a 24-in or 600-mm lay-in grid 

ceiling or cut into drywall or plaster. 


Fixture body is painted with high-gloss, electrostatically 

applied white enamel fi nish. Louver and louver frame are 

painted with low-gloss, Easy-White fi nish (Tiger Drylac 

449/11707 smooth flat). 

Louver Frame 

Die-cut, cold-rolled steel with four (4) pull-down spring 

latches. Louver frame can be removed from fi xture 

without use of tools. 

Lamping 

These Brightline fixtures use 55W compact fl uorescent 

lamps, available in a variety of color temperatures 

(see the Fixture Accessories and lamps datasheets 

for details). Studioline and Cinema Series lamps are 

optimized specifically for video camera applications. 

Louvers 

Louvers are available for angled operation 

(approximately 45°) in one direction (FW and CA option) 

or bidirectionally (BI option). Louvers are also available 

for vertical downward-throw operation (DN option). 

Louvers are backed with a matte white lens.

The overall dimension of the fi xture body (with the

R-View Videoconference Fixture 

Brightline’s R-View fi xture was developed to provide energy-efficient, broadcast-quality, advanced fl uorescent 

lighting in a format designed for wall, stand, or cart-mounted applications. Uses include business and 

governmental videoconferencing, e-learning, telemedicine, internet video streaming, newsrooms, and 

nontraditional studios. 

Construction 

20-gauge formed aluminum sheet-metal construction. 24-gauge formed specular primary and white secondary 

reflectors. Fixture body incorporates ANSI-standard 75-mm VESA mounting holes (mounting brackets not 

included). Black powder-coat fi nish (TCI #9012-9000) is standard, with custom colors available by request. 

Electrical 

6-ft (1.8-m) attached power cord with a NEMA 5-15P plug is standard for 120V fi xtures. The 2 lamps use 2G11 

4-pin sockets. Ballasts are available for 120V, 230V, or277V 50-60 Hz operation. Ballasts are high frequency 

electronic with a power factor > .97%, a Class A sound rating, and a THD of 10%. 

Mounting 

Fixtures are supplied with four mounting holes that can be used with a pivot bracket or a TVMP adapter. The 

optional pivot bracket allows for 15 degrees of tilt and 180 degrees of pan. 

Dimensions and Weight 

The fixture has dimensions of 22.82-in (579.63-mm) wide x 8.51-in (216.15-mm) high x 5.63-in (143.00-mm) deep, 

exclusive of connectors. The weight of the R-View fi xture is approximately 8-lb (3.63-kg). 

Dimming Ballasts 

Dimmable fixtures can be locally controlled by a bottom-mounted rotary potentiometer (120V and 230V only). Other

The i-Series, a sleek energy-efficient LED fi xture, is scalable to virtually any monitor. Cool-to-the-touch, the i-Series fi xtures make
