of the school. No need to pre-register. Baptisms are
held during one of the four weekend Masses (your
choice). Regular Church attendance is required.

Parish Trustee
In the April 10, 2011 bulletin I
announced that Mrs. Marianne Kraus’ term as trustee
secretary would end soon. As Pastor, I also submitted my
nomination of Mr. Paul Loewen as my choice to serve for
the next 2 year term.
Any additional interested candidates must be nominated
in writing by 10 or more registered parishioners. Nominations
with signatures must be submitted to the rectory
office by May 20, 2011. If necessary, an election will be
held the weekend of June 5 & 6, 2011.
Trustees are legal Corporate Board members of St. Peter
Parish along with the Archbishop, the Vicar General of
the archdiocese and the Pastor. The Corporate Board of
the parish is charged with legal responsibilities such as
major purchases, loans, or renovations. In the parish
process, trustees are important leaders who meet with the
Parish Council and the Finance Committee. Trustees
must be Catholic, registered members of St. Peter Parish
and be at least 25 years old.

School News Please save the evening
of June 1 for a very special end of the year
closing ceremony. We will start the evening
outside, where we will plant an oak tree
with a memory capsule in front. The oak
tree will be there for years to come to remind us that we
started here at St. Peter as a small seed, and with love and
cultivation, we grew to be mighty as an oak! I hope that
students will visit it often, and maybe take a picture by it
each fall to show how much they have grown. Won't that
be a great scrapbook page to put together! Afterward, we
will go inside to celebrate our current and past student
bodies. Alumni - here is your chance to welcome a group
of 100 to your esteemed club! I hope that all will join us
and we have a packed house! Please let us know that you
will be coming by filling out a pink RSVP, located on the
Parish Bulletin Board. It is my hope that this ceremony
will leave our students inspired to carry on the St. Peter
mission, no matter where they go from here!

St. Peter’s Women’s League News Women’s
League is having their annual dinner meeting on June 7 at
6 pm at the Fireside Restaurant. There are 3 items you
can choose from: baked chicken, baked cod, or baked
pork chop. These choices include salad, coffee or tea. The
price is $15 which includes tax & tip. Please RSVP Deborah
Ramsdell at 498-7441 by May 31 with your choice.
Any women interested in Women’s League are invited to
attend. You don’t need to be a member.
All Saints Catholic School This past Thursday
St. Anne’s Parish hosted a meet and greet session with
the new principals of the newly formed All Saints Catholic
School. Things are coming together nicely. They are
interviewing teachers and hope to having them hired by
June 1. A unified Home & School Association will be
formed June 30. Parent Handbook/Policies are slated to
be available July 1st. Curriculum Development is
ongoing, using Archdiocesan curriculum as a base.
St. Peter Parish supports Catholic Education and All
Saint’s Catholic School. To sign up your children for the
2011-12 school year, pick up a registration form from the
table in back of Church or in the school office. Mail registrations
along with $100 deposit to Dr. Jackie Lichter,
St. Elizabeth—4807 -7th Ave., Kenosha (53140) Attn:

Meet Our
Parish Council Nominees
Karl Apanasewicz I have been a member of St. Peter’s Parish since 1999. My family includes my wife Anne of 25
years. Currently I’m employed at Yaskawa Electric America, located in Waukegan, IL as a laboratory technician. I am
involved with liturgy activities as an usher and a lector. I work at festival events and other parish activities as much as I
can. As a member of our Parish Council I would like to add my thoughts, my skills, and knowledge to help develop the
common sense needed to administer the successful working of our faith community.
Gina Giannini I have been a member of St. Peter’s Parish for about four years. My family includes myself and three
adult children and two grandchildren. I’m employed at Bombardier Recreation Products in Sturtevant. While at St.
Peter’s I have been involved with our Parish Festival working at any booths that needed some help. I have the time and
energy to do more but first would like to become more acquainted with parish functions and activities. Outside of the
parish I work as a volunteer with the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Blood Center helping
to promote organ donor awareness. As a member of the Parish Council I would like to devote my time and talent to
general parish activities in a manner that would further support our faith community.
Anne Hassett I have been a member of St. Peter’s parish for the past 2 1/2 years. My family includes my husband
James of nine years and children Grace (6) and James Jr. (4). At present I am a member of our home and school board.
Also, I’m a regular worker at our parish festival. My husband is also active with parish activities as he was one of the
parishioners who painted our playground equipment. Because I have a strong interest in Catholic Education I would like
to work with people who are undecided in progressing with Catholic Education, now that we have a new consolidated
“All Saints” and “St. Joseph’s Academy” system. In addition I would like to be a part of promoting the strong values of
our faith community and in promoting/protecting St. Peter’s traditions and culture.
Lisa Mlodzik As a clinical pharmacist I work at United Hospital Systems. In addition to this employment, I own, and
am both president and founder of my consulting company, RXcellence, which provides comprehensive medication/
disease state management. I have been a long standing and active member of St. Peter’s Parish. I have taught Confirmation
classes for many years at St. Edward’s in Minneapolis and upon returning to Kenosha I continue to teach classes at
St. Peter’s. I serve as a chaperon on the Steubenville trips for youth ministry. Also, I am a Eucharistic minister and lector
as well as a festival worker. I have served as a member of our Parish Council and president for the past three years. My
hope for St. Peter’s is to invite and engage more of our youth in parish life. As our parish grows I hope to do what I can
to support the mission of the Marian’s and the archdiocese.
Diane Szewczyk I have been a St. Peter’s Parish member for sixteen years. My family includes myself and
two adult children. I’m employed as an RN, with the Kenosha Visiting Nurses. As a part of my normal duties I
am an instructor of CPR, teaching this life saving procedure throughout the entire community. I’ve been involved
with parish activities as I have assisted with planning/organizing our parish festival. As a parish council
member I have a strong interest in growing our faith community and providing more activities for our youth. I
really enjoy the warmth of St. Peter’s parishioners and would like to bring this message to others.
Kathryn Woods I have been a parish member for eight years. I’m married to Kenneth (Ken) for 29 years and have
one son, Andrew, a teenager. I’m employed with Kenosha Unified Schools as an educational assistant. I’ve worked with
the parish festival, organizing the cotton candy and snow cone concessions and assisted with other activities as requested.
In addition I’m an avid member of our choir. As a Parish Council member I would like to promote more growth in
membership for our parish and more activities for our youth.
You will find pictures of these individuals on the bulletin board in the lobby. Please take some time this week to pray
for all our nominees as well as those who currently serve on our Parish Council. We appreciate their commitment to the
parish and their willingness to serve us. Elections will be held the weekend of May 21 & 22. Registered parishioners 18
years or older will be eligible to vote. May God continue to bless our parish with good leadership.

Confirmation Prayer
Heavenly Father,
in the Old Testament, your prophets and priests
would anoint the faithful with oil.
Through this holy anointing
you made known to them their mission on earth.
On Pentecost, at the birth of the Church,
you sent your Holy Spirit on the disciples.
On that day, the promise you gave of your Spirit
was fulfilled to the whole world.
As these newly confirmed go out into the world
preserve the gifts of the Spirit in their hearts.
May the completion of their initiation through
Confirmation help them fulfill their baptismal
Promises as members of the Body of Christ.
