BAPTISM: A pre-baptismal class for parents is required
prior to the baby's baptism. Arrangements should be
made prior to the baby's birth. Class is held on the 2nd
Sunday of the month, 11:00 am-12:30 pm. Baptisms are
the 1st Sunday of the month. Regular Church Attendance
is required before the sacrament is shared.

Fifteen-year-old Ben Underwood of Sacramento,
California, is one typical teenager. He loves skateboarding,
playing basketball with his friends, and listening to music.
Ben also happens to be blind after losing his sight to retinal
cancer at the age of three. But thanks to a loving mother
who has always told him he can do anything in life he
wishes, Ben simply lives his life like his friends. "I'm not
blind," he says, "I just can't see."
Many of us who can see are, in fact, blind. We live
our lives in the darkness of sin and despair. Today's reading
from the Gospel of John illustrates that even after a
lifetime-of blindness, we always have the opportunity to
see the light-the light of the world that is Jesus Christ. His
love flowing through our hearts removes the shroud of
darkness and despair, giving us hope and confidence and
allowing us to find our way and to follow his greatest commandment,
to love one another.
One of the greatest obstacles to true faith is the
feeling of doubt. Those who challenge the existence of
God, who allow themselves to express doubt, have instilled
upon themselves a spiritual blindness (CCC 2088). The
first commandment teaches us to always cherish and nurture
our faith, protecting it to the point of rejecting any and
all opposition to it. On this fourth Sunday of Lent, renew
your determination to live in the light of the Lord.

4th Sunday of Lent
Last November we listened
to a tape by Archbishop
Dolan explaining a need of
the Church in South Eastern
Wisconsin to plan for the future. He asks all parishes in
the Milwaukee Archdiocese to join this effort to help now
for a strong faith in our future.
Through the Parish Council St. Peter Church has been
exploring our own needs and projects for the future. As
Faith in Our Future is a Capital Campaign, we are formulating
a “case statement” to share with you. As always,
parishioners are invited to attend any parish council meeting.
Our next meeting is Monday March 3 at 7 pm.
We have begun work on our parish promotion of Faith in
Our Future. Several parishioners have agreed to help run
the effort. You will be hearing from us soon. Thank you
for your openness.
Rest in Peace “The souls of the just are in the hands
of the Lord”. With this promise we commend to your
prayers Sarah Pasquali who died last week.

Healing Mass St. Peter's Prayer & Worship Committee
is hosting a "Healing Mass" on Wednesday, March
12 at 6 pm. The Anointing of the Sick will be offered at
the Mass. This invitation is open to all-so please invite
your family and friends, especially those who through
illness or disability can not regularly come to Church.
Refreshments will be served in the lobby after the service.

St. Peter Youth choir will meet on Sunday, March
9 at 10:30 am to rehearse and then sing for the 11 am
Mass. They will also sing on Easter Sunday for the 11 am
Mass. Anyone in grades 2-8 is welcome to join! See Tami

The next “Living Our Faith” with
Archbishop Dolan episode focuses on Catholic
Relief Services, Catholic Charities. Bob
Schuelke of Three Holy Women Parish,
Milwaukee, visits with Archbishop Dolan and talks about
his work on behalf of Catholic Relief Services. Catholic
Charities' caregiver support group is profiled. The program

Divine Mercy Novena The Congregation
of Marian Fathers invite you to join
them for their Divine Mercy Novena beginning
Friday March 21 through Saturday,

and give a 20 minute presentation. Mercy

Late Nite Catechism Youth Ministry programs at
St. Peter/St.Mary/St. Therese are presenting 2 shows
"Late Nite Catechism" on Friday May 2 & “Put the Nuns
in Charge” on May 3 at the St. Joseph High School Auditorium.

Marian Prayer Program The Knights of Columbus,
Kenosha Councils, invite you to a Marian Prayer Program
with a special devotion to Our Lady of Charity. It
will be held this Tuesday, March 4 at St. Peter Church
starting at 7 pm. This program offers a graced opportunity
to reflect on the virtue of charity and to make more widely
known the beautiful teaching of Deus Caritas Est, in
which Pope Benedict XVI explores the true nature of
charity, based on love of God and love of neighbor.

End of Year Financial Statements

need a statement of your 2007 parish donations for
please get us a stamped, self addressed envelope and we
will mail it to you. You may drop the envelope off at the
rectory, place it in the collection or mail it to us.
Catholic Women’s Club 6028 8th Ave will hold
their Annual Lenten Mass & Luncheon Saturday March
15. Mass will be celebrated by our advisor Fr. Henry
Maibusch OSA at 11 am with lunch to follow. Our
speaker is Sheila M. Luck from Wisconsin Right to Life.

Finding the Holy in Holy Week & Beyond

The life of Riley Riley has been Fr. Jim Loehr’s
constant companion since the pastor of St. John Neumann
in Waukesha raised the dog from a pup. Riley
won’t be waiting patiently by the door of the rectory any
more, however, as he died unexpectedly in late January.
Read in the March 13 issue of your Catholic Herald how
Fr. Jim and parishioners at St. John are turning their
grief in Riley’s death into a meaningful Lenten reflection.
