FOR CALIPERS<br />
Good <strong>Core</strong><br />
• No major components damaged or missing<br />
One Part Damaged<br />
• Broken or damaged bleeder screw or bolt<br />
• One or more caliper pistons missing<br />
Scrap<br />
• Non <strong>Bendix</strong> program parts<br />
• Rotor contact wear on inside<br />
• Rim contact wear on outside<br />
• Damaged or cracked casting<br />
• Excessive rust<br />
• Excessive wear or damage to slide rails, "V"<br />
way and/or pad abutments<br />
What to look for:<br />
• Port location for 55314 (E14675006), 55313<br />
(E14675008), and 55717 (E14675007)<br />
• 55314 – Top side of opening<br />
• 55313 – Same side as opening<br />
• 55717 – Has threaded mounting holes in<br />
center<br />
• Number of ports for 55251 (E14684106),<br />
and 55803 (E14685012)<br />
• 55251 – 6 ports<br />
• 55803 – 4 ports<br />

• Damaged threads on connecting ports<br />
• Broken body<br />
• Broken cover<br />
• Broken bolts – if fl ush or below body<br />
• Missing internal components<br />
• Excessive corrosion or pitting<br />
• Broken fl ange mounts<br />
Scrap<br />
• Co-mingled parts<br />
• Two major parts damaged or missing<br />
• Obsolete or not in program parts<br />
What to look for<br />
• Excessive corrosion around all ports and<br />
mounting brackets.<br />

Major parts include:<br />
• Damaged crankshaft (including threads)<br />
• Broken cooling fi ns<br />
• Broken governor mounting pad<br />
• Missing or broken connecting rod<br />
• Damaged mounting fl ange<br />
• Case/crankcase or block damage<br />
• Missing end cover<br />
• Excessive wear (e.g. rust, corrosion, etc.)<br />
that would prevent the part from being<br />
remanufactured (fi nal determination will be<br />
made by <strong>Bendix</strong>)<br />
• Any core that has been welded or brazed<br />
• Damage to the cylinder head<br />
Two Parts Damaged<br />
Two major parts damaged or missing<br />
• Hole in case/crankcase is two part damage<br />
Scrap<br />
• Co-mingled parts<br />
• Three major parts damaged or missing<br />
• Obsolete or not in program parts<br />
What to look for<br />
• Compressor crankshafts capable of making<br />
360 degree rotation – if not, the shaft<br />
may be broken and/or signifi cant internal<br />
damage is present.<br />
• Damage to threaded end of crankshaft or<br />
spline damage.<br />
• Hammer marks to end of crankshaft.<br />
• Evidence of over torque – possibly sheared<br />
end of crankshaft.<br />
• Evidence of high heat.<br />
