Pic 25. Some time has lapsed. Charlie (perhaps in civilian clothing) is now up
and about. We see that one of his flying buddies has given him a lift into the
nearest town. He stands at the side of the jeep, waving to his friend, as he
sets off.
PANEL ABOVE: CHARLIE’S BURNS SOON HEALED, BUT HIS
SPRAINED ANKLE STILL BOTHERED HIM. ONE DAY, ADAM MCKEE, A
FELLOW PILOT, GAVE CHARLIE A LIFT INTO IPSWICH.
CHARLIE: THANKS, ADAM!
ADAM: YOU SHOULD’VE TAKEN A BROLLY, CHARLIE. LOOKS LIKE
IT’S GOING TO DOWNPOUR!
Pic 26. It’s raining now. Charlie stands outside the town cinema. There’s a
sign or bill poster. It reads: Now showing – THE NAZI TERROR!
PANEL ABOVE: AFTER WANDERING AROUND TOWN FOR A WHILE,
CHARLIE DECIDED TO GO TO THE CINEMA, MAINLY TO AVOID THE
HEAVY RAIN.
CHARLIE THX: IF I CAN’T FIGHT IN THE WAR, I MIGHT AS WELL WATCH
IT AT THE LOCAL FLEAPIT!
