Pic 128. A relieved Jacques ushers them out of the safe house. They fail to spot a figure, behind them, hiding undercover, gun raised in defence. It is Rudi Bartos. He does not fire on them. PANEL ABOVE: JACQUES USHERED THE DUO OUTSIDE, TOWARDS A WAITING PICK-UP TRUCK, ITS ENGINES RUNNING. JACQUES: LET’S GO. THERE ISN’T MUCH TIME! RUDI THX: GOOD LUCK, CRAIG. KESSLER AND HIS SCUM ARE NO LOSS TO ME! PANEL BELOW: THEY FAILED TO SPOT RUDI, WHO WAS HIDING IN GOOD COVER. PANEL ABOVE: A WESTLAND LYSANDER STOOD AT THE PICK-UP POINT. ITS IMPATIENT PILOT WAS FLIGHT LIEUTENANT JOHN TRACEY. HIS SECOND-IN-COMMAND, CHRISTOPHER MCMAHON, NOTICED A VEHICLE APPROACHING AT SPEED.
