Pic 64. Now, Neville sits in the cockpit of a spitfire, parked on the ground.
Charlie, standing on the wing, goes over the controls with him. Peter Hudson
stands nearby.
PANEL ABOVE: THAT AFTERNOON, PETER WAS KEEN TO
START PRINCIPLE PHOTOGRAPHY. SCENES WOULD BE SHOT OUT OF
SEQUENCE, AND THE FIRST WOULD INVOLVE NEVILLE’S CHARACTER
FLYING A SPITFIRE.
CHARLIE: THAT CONTROLS THE FLAPS, AND THE RED BUTTON
FIRES THE MACHINE GUNS. THEY’RE EMPTY JUST NOW,
OF COURSE.
NEVILLE: SEEMS STRAIGHT FORWARD ENOUGH. THANKS, BOYD.
Pic 65. The film crew, headed by Peter, are about to go for a take. Peter
shouts through a megaphone. Camera, boom mike, lights, etc are trained on
Neville in the spitfire cockpit.
PANEL ABOVE: UNDER PETER’S DIRECTION, THE FILM GOT
UNDERWAY.
PETER: READY, EVERYONE? LIGHTS, CAMERA… ACTION!
