Exciting News: Our New Church Floor is Coming Soon
During June you will see the beginning of our new church flooring project. There are some preliminaries that we
must accomplish before the actual tiling can begin. The committee’s suggestion that floor electrical outlets in the
rear be added means we must arrange for their installation before beginning the actual tiling work. Eventually as
work progresses toward the front, our altar will have to be temporarily moved to complete the tiling around it.
The area of the floor itself must be clear for the installation. Our Baptismal font must be in its set location for the
tile design that is planned for surrounding it. Some heating and cooling pipes and controls and electrical piping
now sitting on the top and the floor of our confessionals must be piped into the wall so the space can be free of
obstructions.
We anticipate these preliminaries to be completed within two weeks and the actual tiling to begin the week of
June 25th. You will be able to watch the progress on this exciting project as the floor is completed in sections,
from the rear of church working toward the front. As mentioned pews will be temporarily removed in sections to
complete the tiling and then reset over the new tile. No pews for seating will be removed from the church, but
only moved to a temporary space while the work is being finished.
This is an exciting time for our parish as we move forward on ways to improve our facilities and our prayer
together as God’s people. You can be proud that it is the sacrifices of those who contributed to this project for
our faith community that have made this possible. God bless your faithful giving and love for our Divine Savior
community.
