Page Five ELEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME June 17, 2012 2012 RELAY FOR LIFE Norridge/Harwood Heights Friday, August 3, 2012 Norridge Park District The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is a 12‐hour community and volunteer based fund‐raising event. In 2011, Relay brought together more than 3.5 million people to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and empower individuals and communities to fight back against disease that takes too much. Cancer never stops; therefore, for 12 hours participants take turns walking a track, symbolizing the life of a cancer patient, while enjoying entertainment and activities.
