Class officer
Why have you chosen to run for a position in Marian High School's student government?
From the experience of being a class officer freshman year, I fell in love with being a class officer. Being
a class officer makes me feel confident in myself and my entire class. Standing up and leading class
meetings hearing my fellow officers' and grades' authority and ideas is inspiring. It makes one feel proud
to have the position of a leader. I want to run for class officer again because of that love of leadership,
organizing, and planning.
What is your definition of a leader?
My definition of a leader is confidence, authority, positivity, and outgoing. Confidence to stand in front of
the class without fear, authority to take charge of the crowd, positivity to cheer up those who are down,
and being outgoing to not be effected by the judgments of others. These qualities are important in being a
leader.
What special skills or talents will you bring to student government? How will these traits enrich the
environment of Marian High School?
The special skills and talents I possess are positivity, the ability to making people feel comfortable, and
giving advice. Being positive and king will enrich the environment of Marian High School's student body
by sending an ambiance of happiness! Saying hi and smiling at everyone makes me feel better and
spreads to others, as well. Cheering others up is a specialty of mine. When in group projects or at class
meetings, making others feel comfortable helps a great deal! When others feel complacent, they voice
ideas and opinions more. Giving advice to those feeling down help them feel more confident in
themselves. I am all about making others feel self- assured and bold.
What innovative ideas or goals do you have for Marian High School? What plan of action would
you take to see your goal achieved?
Some goals and ideas I have for Marian High School involve with giving options. I think that we should
offer more clubs such as: a poetry club, Culinary club or class, a home economics class, and etcetera. I
would take two surveys, one for a class and one for a club, and see which class and club one to see if we
could add it into the curriculum.

What activities have you been involved in at Marian that will assist you in being a strong and able
leader in student government?
Being a class officer benefited me a lot. This helped me more outgoing than I was! Doing skits, leading
the class in field day, and planning the mass helped me learn so much about my class and myself. They
helped me learn how to plan and organize, how to deal with on the spot problems, and how to come to the
realization that things aren't perfect which makes experiences better. Volunteering and being a servicelearning
leader also helped by teaching me the values of leadership and community.
