Financial Report 49
The academic programme has been successfully
maintained through this busy year with some
extremely pleasing results. The mandatory literacy
and numeracy programme has seen all students
improve in both areas (some have achieved
extremely significant improvements). At the time of
compiling this report it is pleasing to note that all six
of the students who have applied for further tertiary
study programmes at either Auckland University
or Unitec, have been afforded interviews and all of
those who have completed this process have been
invited to enrol for under-graduate courses in 2013.
Nestle is a very generous supporter of the Pro
Sport programme and this year they have increased
their involvement and support of the programme
and the students. They are involved in national
and local youth health and nutrition initiatives and
have used the Pro Sport trainees as part of their
