The ARFU is proud of its continued support to the
clubs via the Amateur Support Agreement. The
Board acknowledges this is vital for club health, but
does caution there is no future guarantee of club
grants should the distribution of income from Trust
monies change.
We encourage clubs to continue to seek alternative
means to gain greater financial independence.
In 2012 the Board has worked diligently across all
facets of the game and I thank them for their valued
contributions, including our President Lawrie Knight.
A special thank you and acknowledgement goes
to Grant Carruthers who is retiring this year and
creates a director vacancy for 2013, after 12 years of
service, since being elected back in 2001.
Grant has passed through most sub-committees of
the Board (invariably as chairman) including, Finance,
Strategy, Referees, Union Projects Ltd., Eden
Park (Board of Control & Eden Park Trust) and as a
Trustee of the Seagull Trust.
