Firefighters Quest for Burn Survivors

California Highway Patrol
It is truly amazing and remarkable that Firefighters
Quest has had the wonderful opportunity to work
alongside the CHP for a ‗common goal‘- to assist burn
survivors and the programs and centers. Rally 2011
was the 15 th Annual Quest Rally where we had the
California Highway Patrol, with 12 Offices supporting
the Rally and 45 Officers, which does not include the
16 personnel behind the scenes. Each year Quest is
welcomed by the CHP at the initial contact and during
the months prior they are very gracious and open to
anything we need, even with the state in the position it
is at this time. In the area that Quest covers we also fall
under 4 divisions which is where the initial contact
transpires, with either letter writing to the Division
Chiefs for approval or contact with the Sgt‘s. Public
Affairs Coordinator Offices. Each year Quest deals
with some new personnel to the position, but whoever
takes over is so understanding and supportive to the
Quest cause and mission.
I feel that Quest has earned our reputation with the
CHP because we are very alert during our Rally, follow
the rules, are a ‗happy group‘, and respectful as well as
honored to be working with the officers. The officers
volunteer for this duty and most of them put in for the
detail 1 year in advance, like as soon as the present
Rally is over. That is because Quest personnel are so
open with the CHP‘s needs and very polite. Words
can‘t express the great working relationship we have
with the CHP and their personnel.
Thanks for so much for the great leadership during
Rally 2011 and we hope to see the California Highway
Patrol and all their personnel for Rally 2012.
It has been truly an honor to work with the California
