Staff: Great color & layout. I like the<br />

pictures of the facilities at the bottom.<br />

ad, very modern and great layout.<br />

Third Award: The Gazette, Janesville:<br />

Santa for sure caught my attention.<br />

First Award: Daily Jefferson County<br />

Union, Fort Atkinson: “Vos’ Sentry<br />

says goodbye after 90 years in<br />

business” - Leila Koeppel: Great ad!<br />

Loved the old pictures with the letter<br />

from the owner. Very thoughtful.<br />

The sunset idea was great. Everything<br />

worked really well in the ad.<br />

Made me feel an emotional connection<br />

to a store that i have never been<br />

to.<br />

Second Award: Daily Jefferson<br />

County Union, Fort Atkinson:<br />

“PremierBank 150th Anniversary” -<br />

Furley: Great ad idea. Like that it is<br />

a real family who banks there. Love<br />

the history timeline and the “we’re<br />

here for you” message.<br />

Third Award: Watertown Daily<br />

Times: “Give me your tired...Kathys<br />

Buffalo Bar” - Mark Heiden: Cool,<br />

unique idea, very eye catching, loved<br />

the layout.<br />

Group D<br />

First Award: Vilas County News-Review,<br />

Eagle River: “Derby 51 Years”<br />

- Betsy Bleicher, Gary Ridderbusch,<br />

Kurt Krueger: Not sure if there was<br />

a “50th year” ad, but this is eyecatching<br />

with good graphics and use<br />

of color.<br />

Second Award: : Courier Press,<br />

Prairie du Chien: “3M is Celebrating<br />

50 Years” - Kim Corpian: A business<br />

change is often covered only by Editorial,<br />

so this is a pleasant change.<br />

Good reminder of history and impact<br />

of the company. I liked the color<br />

scheme and the b/w pics.<br />

Group E<br />

First Award: Ripon Commonwealth<br />

Press: “Diedrich’s 90th Anniversary”<br />

- Tami Conlon, Todd Sharp: I greatly<br />

appreciate the restrain shown by<br />

all involved in this ad. One strong<br />

graphic, just a touch of color and<br />

very few words. Even as a thumbnail,<br />

it is clear this ad is outstanding.<br />

Second Award: The Star, Sun Prairie:<br />

“Angell Park Speedway 2014 Schedule”<br />

- Nathan Sheeks: While this is a<br />

recurring event and maybe has used<br />

this graphic before, I find the big<br />

Toyota very captivating. Your graphics<br />

went outside the lines, in several<br />

ways, and it paid off.<br />

use of design elements. Billboard<br />

Original idea and adaptable to multiple<br />
