Self-testing element<br />
The <strong>ASP</strong> electronic indicator has an integrated self-testing element that<br />
automatically tests the electronic circuit for correct operation (threshold)<br />
after switching on the indicator.<br />
<strong>ASP</strong> non-contact voltage detector used in an outdoor switching station.<br />

Category ”S” and ”L”<br />
Category ”S” voltage detectors can only be used in outdoor installations.<br />
Category ”L” voltage detectors can only be used for overhead lines.<br />
Category ”S” / ”L” voltage detectors can be used in both outdoor installations<br />
and for overhead lines.<br />
Replacing the battery<br />
The 9 V E block battery can easily be replaced by hand without the need<br />
for additional tools. By simply unscrewing the plastic nut, access is<br />
allowed for fast and easy replacement. Low battery conditions of the <strong>ASP</strong><br />
indicator are indicated by both LEDs illuminated and an acoustic signal<br />
when switching on the detector.<br />

Application for overhead lines<br />
The green ring of the category ”L”<br />
<strong>ASP</strong> non-contact voltage detector<br />
with electric field sensor is used to<br />
make contact with the last earthed<br />
fitting in such a way that the electric<br />
field sensor points in the direction of<br />
the conductor cable fixed at the<br />
other end of the insulator.<br />
Application in outdoor switching stations<br />
The green ring of the category ”S” <strong>ASP</strong> non-contact voltage detector with<br />
electric field sensor is used to make contact with the lowest insulator<br />
plate at a right angle.<br />
If a protective fitting is located on the earth side, contact is made at the<br />
next possible insulator plate above the protective fitting.<br />
