Accreditation
In 2009, the ATS actively participated in the implementation of assessment activities (in the process of granting,
extending the scope of accreditation and renewal thereof, and in the implementation of surveillance activities). There
was a total of 424, whereas 380 are accredited bodies (373 active ones + 7 ones the accreditation of which was
withdrawn during the last year), and the number of initial accreditation cases amounted to 44.
After all assessment activities have been implemented in
line with the relevant procedures, 437 different decisions on
accreditation were made as follows:

Fields with the largest number of accredited testing laboratories are as follows: foodstuffs, pressure vessels,
environment, agriculture (soil, animal feed, seeds), mechanical/electrical engineering, building materials, and
material testing.
Fields with the largest number of accredited calibration laboratories are as follows: mass measuring instruments,
pressure measuring instruments, temperature measuring instruments, humidity measuring instruments, electrical
quantities and dimensional quantities – length.
Fields with the largest number of accredited inspection bodies are as follows: motor vehicles, pressure vessels,
lifts, electrical installations and lighting protection systems, noise and vibrations, working environment/protective
equipment, and textile.
