2009 collection has something for everyone!
Using the newest Nikwax fabric technologies combined with new designs, the Autumn/
Winter 2009-10 collection from Páramo Directional Clothing systems represents a
significant line-up of innovative products:
• Quito Jacket – superb ventilation in a multi-activity waterproof using the new Nikwax
Analogy Light fabric.
• Velez Adventure Trousers – our best selling Cascada Waterproof Trousers now have a

With September’s new launches, Páramo once again delivers performance clothing that’s
functional and practical. Using clean, simple designs with an eye for detail, Páramo garments
utilise Nikwax fabrics designed to outlast conventional outdoor kit and not become obsolete. The
award-winning range of Directional clothing is ethically produced and environmentally considerate.
Top billing this season goes to the new Quito Jacket, a lightweight, close-fitting multi-activity
jacket. Like the highly successful Velez Adventure Light released this Spring, the Quito is
constructed from new Nikwax Analogy Light, guaranteeing performance and weather protection
with a considerable saving in weight (Medium Jacket is under 500 grammes), making it ideal for
those enthusiasts looking to travel fast and light. The radical and generous arm/ torso vents allow
for swift temperature adjustment while minimising rain ingress.
Also on the ‘must-see’ list for ‘multi-active’ outdoor enthusiasts, summer fell walkers, scramblers
and climbers are the Velez Adventure Trousers which benefit from a fitted shape to reduce fabric
bulk with long thigh vents for superior ventilation. Constructed from a combination of standard and
lightweight Nikwax Analogy fabrics, these multi-activity trousers guarantee performance and
weather proofing and complement the renowned range of Páramo ‘Velez’ products.

With an active women’s cut, the new Ladies’ Fuera Crest Jacket fuses technicality with design.
A very versatile water-repellent windproof, the Crest combines well with both Parameta S and
Cambia baselayers. It’s ideal for use on temperate days when breathability and flexibility are more
important than total weatherproofing. Treated with Nikwax aftercare, the robust but lightweight
Nikwax Windproof fabric will give water-repellency indefinitely. Conceived for high energy activities
such as mountain biking, rambling, adventure racing and running amongst others, the Ladies’
Fuera Crest offers a fully adjustable hood, adjustable cuffs, and secure pockets.
The Ladies’ and Men’s Halcon Jackets extend the range of jackets in the Naturally Páramo
range. Designed for an active country lifestyle, the intelligent features of the Halcon Jacket make it
especially suitable for outdoor enthusiasts who carry lots of equipment with them. Nine easily
accessible pockets, inside and out, complement this practical country jacket. Thanks to the unique
Nikwax Analogy fabric and carefully thought-out ventilation options wearers can maintain their
comfort level without taking ‘layers’ on and off. Comfort is enhanced with a cosy fleece lined collar
and handwarming pockets. What’s more, for every Halcon Jacket sold, Páramo will donate a
sapling to help Trees for Life restore the Caledonian Forest and its native flora and fauna.
And finally, to the Torres Sleeves and Torres Trousers. These garments expand the Páramo
concept of overlayering as a much more practical alternative to conventional layering, not
requiring the wearer to shed layers which lets body heat escape and the weather in, in order to add
under layers when needing to warm up. The Torres Sleeves are a radical idea, providing really fast
warmth for minimal weight. Warming the arms alone is really speedy and hassle free with real
benefits for whole body warmth and for maintaining dexterity in the fingers. The synthetic fill means
they can be used in all conditions and compressed down without damage. The Torres Trousers
provide almost immediate warmth for the legs and, of key importance, clever design means they
are put on without lifting either foot off the ground. Tricky to convey with words alone, both these
