4. International Affiliations<br />
Delegation <strong>of</strong> "HKCS ICT Visit to Japan 2005"<br />
As a founding member <strong>of</strong> the South East Asia Regional<br />
<strong>Computer</strong> Confederation (SEARCC), HKCS maintains<br />
close links with its counterparts in the region and<br />
elsewhere. It is actively engaged in a number <strong>of</strong> projects<br />
with the China <strong>Computer</strong> Federation, including the<br />
National Olympiad in Informatics and Standardised<br />
Chinese IT Terminology. <strong>The</strong> Society is affiliated with<br />
other pr<strong>of</strong>essional bodies and members benefit from<br />
reciprocal arrangements with the <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> Institution<br />
<strong>of</strong> Engineers (HKIE), the British <strong>Computer</strong> Society (BCS)<br />
and the Australian <strong>Computer</strong> Society (ACS).<br />
5. Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Representation<br />
Distinguished Fellows and <strong>Council</strong> <strong>Members</strong> continue to serve the community by tendering pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />
advice on various advisory boards and committees.<br />
6. Community Services<br />
<strong>The</strong> HKCS has set up a number <strong>of</strong> commitments to carry out its vision <strong>of</strong> community services. <strong>The</strong><br />
Communication and Marketing Committee (CMC) and Community Services Committee (CSC) are both<br />
designed to improve the Society’s public awareness and have drawn numerous successes such as the ICT<br />
Sports & Fun Day and charitable donations.<br />
7. Educational Activities<br />
Organise IT seminars, SID workshops and career talks for HKCS members and public general.<br />
8. Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Certifications<br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> Institute for IT Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Certification (HKITPC) has been formed a permanent institution to<br />
implement and sustain the operation <strong>of</strong> the certification scheme <strong>of</strong> the existing and future pr<strong>of</strong>essional titles,<br />
namely the Certified Pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>of</strong> IT (CPIT).<br />
A) Three initial and senior pr<strong>of</strong>essional titles are:<br />
• CPIT (PD) – Project Director<br />
• CPIT (SA) – Systems Architect<br />
• CPIT (QAM) – Quality Assurance Manager<br />
B) Three new credentials targeting at the<br />
general level are:<br />
• CPIT (APM) – Associate Project Manager<br />
• CPIT (InfoSec) – Information Security<br />
