Exams <strong>and</strong> Quizzes:<br />

Quizzes will be given online for each chapter <strong>of</strong> the text.<br />

They will cover the major chapter topics, lecture material <strong>and</strong> homework problems.<br />

You are allowed to use your text <strong>and</strong> notes for these online quizzes.<br />

You are not to seek or receive help from anyone else (other than God <strong>and</strong> the instructor).<br />

The lowest quiz score will be dropped.<br />

There will be three exams for the course.<br />

Exams 1 <strong>and</strong> 2 will be taken outside <strong>of</strong> class time by appointment in the Yamhill <strong>Chem</strong>eketa testing<br />

center in 1-202<br />

Appointments for the Yamhill testing center need to be made in advance either<br />

o In person in room 1-203,<br />

o by phone at 503-316-3240 or 503-316-3284,<br />

o or by email at lrollest@chemeketa.edu or rod.maskew@chemeketa.edu .<br />

Be sure <strong>and</strong> bring Photo ID to the Testing center Exam<br />

The testing center is open for exams<br />

Fridays 8:00 am – noon <strong>and</strong> 1:00 pm -5 pm<br />

Mondays 8:00 am –10:00am <strong>and</strong> 12:15-2:15 pm<br />

Exam 3 will be given during final exam week in the regular lecture classroom. It will cover<br />

previously untested material <strong>and</strong> part <strong>of</strong> the exam will be a comprehensive final.<br />

Laboratory:<br />

Each week there will be two hours <strong>of</strong> h<strong>and</strong>s-on experimentation in which we will observe, practice, <strong>and</strong><br />

experience chemical reactions <strong>and</strong> procedures.<br />

Each lab will have preliminary (Prelab) questions that can be answered by reading the experiment<br />

prior to the lab class<br />

Each lab will have a report sheet that is due at the conclusion <strong>of</strong> each project.<br />

Most <strong>of</strong> the experimental procedures will be done in partners however each individual is responsible<br />

for their own report <strong>and</strong> lab assignments.<br />

One lab score will be dropped.
