A & D<strong>Marion</strong> <strong>County</strong> Health Department<strong>ITRS</strong> <strong>Program</strong>Adult A & D Treatment—<strong>Salem</strong>2035 Davcor St SE<strong>Salem</strong>, OR 97302Receptionist: 503.576.4660Contact: Laura BurtonPhone: 503.990.4305Email: lburton@co.marion.or.usSERVICES PROVIDED:<strong>Marion</strong> <strong>County</strong> Drug Treatment <strong>Program</strong> provides services to individuals who present withsymptoms of chemical dependency and have DHS related cases. <strong>ITRS</strong> provides a recoveryenvironment and skills for the family as they address their alcohol and drug addiction and makedecisions regarding their children.• Assessment & Recommendations• Individual & Group Counseling• Family Sessions and Family Groups• Parenting Classes• Treatment Planning• Case Management• Mentor Services• Referrals to community resources• Court AdvocacyROLE OF PRACTICUM STUDENT:• Participate in the county orientation.• Students will need to clear a criminal background check (all legal problems need to havebeen resolved).• Must hold or be actively involved in a program, which will result in obtaining a CADC,Associates, Bachelor or related degree.• Practicum student will perform duties under the supervision of a certified alcohol anddrug counselor.REQUIREMENTS FOR PRACTICUM/INTERN STUDENTS:• Observe, assist, and co-facilitate in screenings, orientation, assessment and individual andgroup counseling of clients.• Obtain and process paperwork for client UAs for drug testing following all safetyrequirements.Updated 3/31/2014


• Assist with treatment planning and discharging planning.• Prepare clinical documentation as assigned.• Case management of a client under the supervision of a CADC counselor.• Assist with coordination of services with other agencies to meet client needs as directed.• Participate as a member of the <strong>ITRS</strong> Treatment Team.• Advise supervisor of any potential conflicts of interest regarding clients (personal orbusiness relationship).• Maintain ethical boundaries.• Provide back up and support to co-workers.• Promote and contribute to positive, professional working relationships with co-workers,clients and other agencies.• Understand and support the department mission, vision and values.• Maintain punctual and regular work attendance.• Comply with the department and county policies, procedures and regulations.• Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.• You are NOT eligible if convicted for ANY of the crimes listed below (or attempt,conspiracy, or solicitation for any of the crimes) regardless of how long ago theconviction occurred.o Aggravated Murdero Murdero Rape 1o Sodomy 1o Unlawful Sexual Penetration 1o Sexual Abuse 1o Identity Theft• Convictions against aging and people with disabilities or developmental disabilities needto contact Trish Davis (phone: 503.585.4982 or email: pdavis@co.marion.or.us) directly,if he/she feels that they could potentially have a crime listed.CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK REQUIREDAs of April 15, 2011, practicum sites that use the Department of Human Services BackgroundCheck Unit will now conduct a weighing test and fitness determination when an individual hasbeen identified as the perpetrator of abuse in certain cases of sexual abuse, physical abuse orfinancial exploitation. The Background Check Unit will specifically consider the most seriouscases of abuse reported and substantiated from January 1, 2010, forward.Updated 3/31/2014
