There's concern in Portwenn that local radio presenter Caroline Bosman has a drink problem. She's been heard slurring her words during her
broadcasts, and she's been seen driving erratically. Her marriage is on the rocks because of her strange behavior. PC Mylow has romance on his
mind. He's been bowled over by the pretty, blonde newcomer to Portwenn, Julie. He offers to give her driving lessons, and is over the moon when
she accepts. But his little bubble of happiness bursts when she decides to enroll at a proper driving school. Meanwhile, Martin has an odorous
problem with one of his patients. Vernon Cooke stinks so much nobody can bear to be in the same room. Martin has the unpleasant task of trying to
discover the cause.

devising a novel way of changing into swim trunks. In church, he deals with a ticklish sneeze by reinventing the concept of the pocket handkerchief,
and struggles to stay awake.

Set in a police station, the British comedy series THE THIN BLUE LINE stars Rowan "Mr. Bean" Atkinson as Inspector Fowler, head of the uniform
branch. In the cramped station, Fowler's unit shares one large operations room with the CID in plain clothes, managed by Detective Inspector Grim
(David Haig). Fowler is a bit pompous, a bit priggish and a little old-fashioned, but he is a decent and honorable chap who feels very strongly about
his duty as a policeman and attempts to instill his principles in his officers. The smug, ambitious, patronizing Grim and his officers think themselves a
cut above the uniform squad, and the two groups constantly clash in the confined space.
