Turn in HYFA gear. Hull Youth Football will
collect all team equipment Saturday at 10 a.m. at the
football shed at L St. field.
Schoolboy rivalry resumes on Thanksgiving.
Watch the Hull High Pirates take on the Cohasset
Skippers in the annual Thanksgiving Day football
game on Thursday the 24 th ; kickoff is at 10 a.m.
Tickets are $10 adult and $7 senior and child. The
Hull Boosters will have breakfast food, coffee, soup,
chowder, and other refreshments on sale at the snack
shack.
At the conclusion of the game, the Boosters will
conduct a golf ball drop of all the golf balls sold prior
to and at the game. The golf balls will be dropped from
a crane donated by Mike and Marty McLaughlin of
The Boat Haulers – A St Hull.
The ball that is closest to the flag stick will win
$1,000. The second-closest will win $500. The ball
furthest from the flag will win three tickets to the Bruins/Sabres
game scheduled for Mar. 8. Those tickets
were donated by local good guy Matt Bennett.
Tickets cost $10 for one; $25 for three. The winner
need not be present at the Turkey Day game. To

Alumni hoops Dec. 3. The annual Hull High
girls and boys alumni basketball game will tip off at
6:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the school’s Berman Gymnasium.
This year’s girls and boys varsity squads will
play against the alumni girls and boys in alternating
periods.
Cost to play is $25, which includes a T shirt and
pizza at Barefoot Bob’s. All proceeds benefit the Hull
High Athletic Department.

Bowman to compete in Amsterdam. Recent Hull
High School graduate Katie Bowman has been invited
to play lacrosse in Amsterdam next summer with the
USA Athletic International team. Bowman was a fouryear
starting goalie for the Hull High girls lacrosse
team. She attends Queens University in Charlotte,
North Carolina, where she plays for the Division II
women’s lacrosse team.
The college undergrad needs sponsors to help

Pet Parlor, Nantasket Pharmacy, Hull Boosters events,
and at Schooner’s, where the drawings are held every

South Shore Seahawks
youth hockey recap
Here’s a summary of last weekend’s South Shore
Seahawks action.
The Mite A team took on Milton and came up big,
winning 6-3. The teams were a bit timid early on, but
the Seahawks quickly built the pressure with nifty
passing and stingy defense.
Late in the first, Jake Sannella worked the puck
down the offensive sideboard and found Declan Scott
at the top of the circle, who fed an open Kevin Leary
for the Seahawks’ first goal. The Seahawks added
to their lead in the second with Kevin Leary taking
a loose puck and going in alone, beating the Milton
goalie stick-side. Leary completed his natural hat trick
a few minutes later on a carbon copy goal of his first.
Sannella pushed the puck into the offensive zone
where Scott won the battle in the corner and found
Leary open out front for the one timer. Dylan Mc-
Donald buried the Seahawks’ fourth goal on a nasty
shot, upper left, following a tremendous feed from
Thomas Capadonna.
Milton quickly responded, leaving the score at 4-1
after two. Solid defensive play from the Aidan Sylvester,
Matty Belsan, Jack Ryan, and Chris Sullivan
frustrated the Milton offensive attack in the third and
they were able to generate some nice outlet plays.
This solid play in their own zone set up the Seahawks’
next goal. With Scott camped out in front of the net,
Leary found space down low and made a nice pass to
Scott, who one-timed it home. McDonald closed out
the scoring for the Seahawks on another sweet corner
pass from the gritty Capadonna. This time McDonald
made a move to his backhand and roofed it.
The win went to goalie Ryan Roseanau, who was
again solid between the pipes. Coach Karle noted that
the solid defensive play opened up the ice and the team
was able to ride that strong effort by the blueliners
throughout the game.
The Pee Wee B team took on a resilient Hingham
squad, falling 3-1 over the weekend. It was a hardfought
game with both teams trading solid play on
both sides of the ice.
The Seahawks came out with a little extra step and
put the team ahead early in the first period with Christian
Raeside burying the puck following a Hingham
turnover. Hingham responded quickly on the power
play, beating the Seahawks’ net minder glove-side.
The teams battled through a scoreless second period.
Seahawks’ penalties in the third opened the door
for Hingham as it netted two goals to seal the game
midway through the period.
Coach Olivieri commented that the team never
gave up and the effort will be something they build on.
The Squirt B White team battled Hanover B
White, losing 6-2. The team got big saves from net
minder Shea Sullivan, but the team just couldn’t beat
his tough Hanover counterpart until the third period.
Jack Thompson got the Seahawks on the scoreboard
early in the third period on a juicy rebound. Will Hoyt
took the initial shot and was credited with the assist.
The Seahawks’ next tally came off the stick of
Ryan Flynn. Jack Bedford circled the top of the offensive
zone and, catching Flynn out of the corner of
his eye, made a nice pass for the assist.
The Squirt B White squad is looking forward to
facing a top Hingham Red team in their next tilt. ∞
