Shawn Johnson<br />
Shawn Machel Johnson is a very famous<br />
gymnast. In 2008, she won a gold medal in the<br />
Olympic Games, and she was only 16 years old!<br />
Shawn was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on<br />
January 19, 1992. From a very early age, Shawn<br />
liked gymnastics. At the age of 6, she went to her<br />
first gymnastics school. She worked very hard, and<br />
in 2006, she won the Junior National United States<br />
Competition. In 2007, she won four gold medals in<br />
the Pan American Games.<br />
Shawn practises gymnastics about 20 to 25<br />
hours a week. She loves music and is very good at<br />
dancing. She also loves painting and writing poems.<br />
