Gynecology Symposium 2011
Loews Miami Beach Hotel
Miami Beach, Florida
June 28-29, 2011

Welcome to the
World Robotic
Gynecology Symposium 2011
Dear Colleague,
The Florida Hospital Global Robotics Institute (GRI) and the Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS) are delighted to invite you to the
Sixth Annual World Robotic Symposium (WRS), June 27-29, 2011. For the past six years, the WRS has been an unparalleled premier
robotic surgery event worldwide, delivering education in Gynecologic Robotic Surgery for the global community.
For our sixth annual event we will highlight the approach to advanced topics for multi-disciplinary robotic surgery. In addition
to Gynecologic Surgery, the conference includes Urologic Surgery, General Surgery, Transoral Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Thoracic
Surgery, Allied Health and Executives Sessions. WRS features an international “all-star” cast of faculty who will use didactics, video
and live surgery to provide the optimal educational environment for both recently trained and experienced robotic surgeons.
The goal of our meeting is to cover the robotic approaches to treating complex gynecologic conditions including advanced
endometriosis, leiomyomas, pelvic adhesive disease, cervical and uterine malignancies with an emphasis tips and tricks for
operative efficiency. Controversial clinical scenarios will be presented via video based teaching in a “pro Vs con” debate format with
experts from Europe and the Americas. In addition, a special lunchtime lecture will focus on credentialing challenges.
We welcome you to join us for a truly exceptional and action packed event for gynecologic surgeons. GRI is pleased to bring this
world-class educational venue to the world’s premiere leisure spot-Miami Beach, Florida. Also consider extending the invitation to
attend the World Robotic Symposium to your entire robotic team.
Best Regards,
Robotics and Health Care Administration (One-day June 27 or Three-day June 27-29 Session)
Robotic surgical technology has resulted in an economic challenge in many aspects of health care. The phenomenal rise in the
adoption of robotic surgery has shown us that hospital administrators have seen the economic benefits to the health system and
the improvement in patient care. This session features some of the leaders in robotic surgery economics and will focus on how to
take the program to the next level through:
• Building a multi-specialty program
• Economic model: distribution of capital expenditure
• Successful strategies in robotic finance
• Cost-containment strategies
• Key factors to success of the program
Note: Those attendees who register for the three-day option will attend one specialty session indicated in registration for each of the
other two days
Allied Health (One-day June 29 or Three-day June 27-29 Session)
The introduction of robotic surgical technology and extraction of the primary surgeon from the patient bedside has highlighted
the importance of the “Surgical Team.” Teamwork is now the key to a program’s success and to improve overall patient surgical
outcomes. This year’s course will focus on:
• Assisting during robotic surgery: video-based analysis of the key steps
• Management of the robotic OR: room turn over, draping, instrumentation, and running multiple cases simultaneously
• OR efficiency
• Team Training: how to obtain the best from your team
• Video footage of assisting and operating room flow, OR turn over and draping of the robot
• Pre-and post-operative care of the robotic surgery patient
Note: Those attendees who register for the three-day option will attend one specialty session indicated in registration for each of the
other two days
