The skill to heal. The spirit to care.
Welcome to the
World Robotic
General Surgery
Symposium
2011
For the last six years, the World Robotic Symposium has been the unparalleled premier robotic surgery
event worldwide. Because of our world-class faculty, an innovative format, surgical broadcasts and
stimulating scientific sessions, it has consistently been the most well attended global event in robotic
surgery, growing in size each year. We at the Florida Hospital Global Robotics Institute (GRI) and the
Society of Robotic Surgery are delighted to invite you to the Sixth Annual World Robotic Symposium,
June 27-29, 2011 at the Loews Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. This event will feature an individualized
symposium for general surgery that will include colorectal, bariatric, gastroesophageal, hepatobiliary/
pancreas/ spleen, endocrine and single incision procedures.
The two and a half day symposium will not only spotlight the tremendous advantages offered by robotic
surgery, but it will take a “how to” approach with focus on trocar placement, patient and robot positioning,
specific clinical applications, and in depth discussions and video demonstrations of the critical elements
of each procedure. These sessions will be presented as didactic presentations of demonstrative video
footage, and panel discussions with opportunities for hands on learning.
