Spring Bicycle Maintenance - Come join us at the April monthly
meeting on Thursday, April 14th at 7:30 pm at the Ridgewood
Library. Mark from Albert's Westwood Cycle store has volunteered to
talk to us about Spring bicycle maintenance.
His talk will include the things we should do before we take our
bicycles on the road again, as well as when we should look to our
supporting bicycle shops for help. This will be a very practical and
informative session.
Next Club meeting April 14th
Meet and Greet the BTCNJ Board - Many members are new to the
club and have questions about how the club functions. Here is your
opportunity to have those questions answered by the Board members,
as well as to meet the folks who keep the club running. We are
encouraging all the BTCNJ Board members to be in attendance. We
hope to provide our members with the information and motivation
needed to get more involved with the club, and to volunteer to
make BTCNJ the great organization that it is.

Special Latin Dance Class for Couples
(Singles Encouraged as Well)
3 Consecutive Friday Evenings
April 8th, 15th and 22nd
Tired of the Winter Doldrums? Want to have fun and get energized?
Come join us for some enjoyable beginner dance Lessons for BTCNJ
members only on three consecutive Friday evenings in April at Mariann's
School of Dance, 599 Valley Health Plaza in Paramus, NJ 07652.
Led by an experienced dance instructor, Sasha Valerie, you will learn
to do the Salsa, Cha Cha, Meringue and other dances. She promises
to have everyone up and dancing in no time, including those who
have never been on the dance floor before!
This is being offered at the special rate of $70 per couple for three
evenings. (All proceeds will be given to Sasha who will rent out the
dance facility, etc.) Classes will run from 7:00pm to 8:00pm each
evening after which we will go out for some light refreshments (or for
the more adventurous, maybe to a dance club). If interested please
confirm by e-mail to: lenoredemeo@yahoo.com and send your check
for $70 per couple to Lenore Cino, 9 Somerset Drive, Apt. 11F, Suffern,
NY 10901. (If you are single, please let us know if you are interested
as well and we will try to find you a dance partner.) Class will be
limited to the first 30 people. We will send you a confirmation with
directions when your check is received. We look forward to seeing
you all on the dance floor.
Monthly March Meeting Wrapup
Those brave enough to weather the pounding rain on Thursday,
March 10th were treated to a wonderful summary of highlights of
the BTCNJ Website by the BTCNJ Webmaster Tom Hobbick. (Pictured
below.) Tom explained the Home Page, the options available
when you Log In to the website and how to search for and list rides,
etc. and other activities and answered the many questions raised.
He also showed how to access the Q-Sheet library to obtain rides
for ride leaders and how to search the roster for members. Most
importantly he showed how to print out your membership card
which has become necessary for obtaining discounts in the club’s
supporting bicycle shops. Job Well Done Tom!

BTCNJ Spin Class
Was a Success
There was a good turnout for Allen Jerinsky's Spin Class at the NY
Sports Club in Mahwah last Friday night. It was the second of two
classes that Allen generously volunteered to lead and he invited
BTCNJ Members to attend. Thanks also to NYSC for letting this happen
at their Club.
Allen shared his Rainman random music facts and the workout music
was energizing and included songs that everyone could relate to. Allen
even had us singing !! He is quick to offer to fit your bike or offer a
tissue for your sweaty brow.
Of course there was an open invitation from Allen, to go to Panera's
after the ride, for dinner, coffee, dessert, and great conversation! Who
could ask for more?!
We had some good 'bike rides' and didn't even need helmets!

Producer Position Available
Well, we had another spectacular Year-in-Review slide show
for 2010 prepared by Carver Washburn that was enjoyed by all.
Since Carver is going into retirement this year we are seeking a
new volunteer producer for the 2011 show. Do you have an interest
in photography and post production work? Are you familiar
with programs that put the pictures to music in a slide show?
If so we are offering an opportunity for you to put together your
own committee to prepare the Year-in-Review show for 2011. In
the past we have used Pro Show Gold software which merges
the pictures and music seamlessly. If you have never used the
software before, this would be an opportunity to learn it. Any
