BULB REPLACEMENT
The supplied 10 watt quartz Halogen lamp is a projection quality bulb.
Operating the lamp at full brightness for long periods reduces the bulb's life.
Using the dimmer extends both bulb life and battery life.
If you suspect the bulb is burned out:
Check if the lamp will light by plugging in the AC charger/adapter and powering
it. If the dimmer is set halfway and the bulb won't light, it probably needs to
be replaced.
No tools are required to replace the bulb; you only need a new replacement bulb
(Vector part# VEC193). The replacement procedure is as follows:
1. Make sure the lamp switch is turned OFF.
2. Grasp the clear plastic guard and the plastic disk below and unscrew the
guard from the disk (counterclockwise). Set the guard aside.
3. Using a clean cloth grasp the bulb and pull the bulb straight up and remove it.
Set the bulb aside.
4. Using a clean cloth, grasp the new bulb and remove it from the container.
Avoid touching the new bulb with bare skin.
5. Note the positions of the bulb's two pins and the small holes on the bulb
socket.
6. Insert the two pins of the new bulb into the socket and make sure they are fully
seated in the socket.
7. Turn on the dimmer and test operation of the bulb.
8. Turn off the lamp and replace the clear plastic guard. Carefully tighten
(clockwise).
9. Place the shade on the top of the guard.
10. Replace the Diffuser and finger-tighten it to secure the shade (clockwise).
11. Dispose of the burned out bulb in a responsible manner.
CLEANING
Over time, there may be dust or fingerprints on the lamp. If necessary clean the
lamp with a soft clean oil-free cloth moistened with window cleaner. Do not use
alcohol-based cleaners on plastic surfaces, this will eventually cause surface clouding.
If the inside of the plastic guard becomes dirty, disassemble as you would for
bulb replacement and clean with window cleaner as above.
BATTERY CARE
Lead-acid batteries should be recharged on a regular basis to maintain a full
charge and to ensure good battery life. All lead-acid batteries suffer from self-discharge
over time and more rapidly when they are at higher temperatures.
Therefore, these types of batteries need periodic charging to replace energy lost
through self-discharge. When the lamp is not in use, Vector recommends that the
battery is recharged at least every 60 days. All batteries must be recharged as
soon as possible after each use. If a battery is allowed to remain in a discharged
state, battery life will be reduced.
NOTE: Recharging battery after each use will prolong battery life; frequent heavy
discharges between recharges will reduce battery life. You can not overcharge
the battery with the supplied AC charger/adapter. The time
required to fully recharge the battery depends on the charge status of the
