(1) The Auction will begin promptly following dinner and continue without interruption until all
items have been auctioned.
(2) In order to enter a bid, bidder must raise his/her paddle and attract the attention of the
auctioneer. This must be repeated each time a bid is initiated or increased. Each bid legally
obligates the bidder to pay his/her bid price in full if his/her bid is deemed the high bid
at the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer. The auction will be fast-paced so the bids must be
made quickly.
(3) ADVANCE BIDS/SEALED BIDS: If you are unable to personally attend the auction, you may
submit an advance and/or sealed bid no later than12 :00 noon, Friday, March 5,
2010 and include check(s) to The Miami Valley School Auction for the full amount of your
bid(s). If yours is a successful bid, you will be promptly notified. If yours is an unsuccessful
bid, your check will be returned within five days. Please call the Advancement Office
at 937-434-1848 for more details.
(4) Payment by the successful bidder may be made immediately following sale of the item or at
the end of the auction when all items may be paid for at one time. Payment may be made
with cash, personal check, American Express, VISA, or Mastercard. Checks should be made
payable to THE MIAMI VALLEY SCHOOL AUCTION. Payment in full on the evening of
the event is mandatory.
(5) Express Checkout is available via reservation card and at the registration desk upon arrival.
Present cashier with your credit card number and expiration date and all items that are
deemed to be yours at the end of the evening will be applied to that credit card the following
day. All receipts will be mailed to you or will be available for pickup with the items in the
Development Office at the school beginning the week of March 8, 2010. In the case of
large items arrangements can be made through the Advancement Office for delivery.
(6) All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds on items by the donors or this
institution except where specified, unless donor is unable to fulfill obligation as described.
Please do not ask donors for exchanges or refunds.
(7) The Miami Valley School has endeavored to catalogue and describe the items and services
correctly, but everything is sold “as is.” Certain auction items and/or services may have
restrictive use or other qualifications which may affect value, application, or use thereof to
bidder. Items are nontransferable and must be used within one year of the auction, unless
otherwise specified. These items may not be re-sold. Purchasers are bound by the precise
restrictions specified by the donors. The terms are nonnegotiable. Please read the catalog
carefully for all specifications and limitations.
(8) The Miami Valley School makes no expressed or implied warranties or representations of any kind
or nature with respect to the property or services, and in no event shall it be responsible for
the correctness of description, genuineness, authenticity, or condition of the property or
services. No statement in the catalogue or made at the sale or in the bill of sale or invoice or
elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty or representation or an assumption of liability.
By his/her purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liability against either The Miami Valley
School or the donor of the property or services, and neither The Miami Valley School nor the
donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the
utilization of property or services sold.
