Appearance affords an opportunity for one to make a statement about oneself. At
The Miami Valley School, we work hard to make our campus attractive and
inviting because we believe doing so reflects our school pride, our work ethic,
and presents us to our community in a respectful way.
The expectations for individual dress – what we wear – are an extension of the
same principles we apply to our campus, affording an opportunity to express
our core values, cognizant of the delicate balance between individuality and
commonality of purpose and goals.
Accountability for the dress expectations requires a commitment from families
and includes a level of responsibility that begins at home. Students who do not
meet the expectations for student dress will be removed from the academic
setting and will await proper clothing brought from home. The school will use a
system of warnings to prevent inconvenience but will engage parental support
