In K3A we have been learning about animals. We recently got a pet<br />
fish for our classroom so children can learn about caring for pets and<br />
about aquatic animals. We transformed our play area into a forest and<br />
brought in stuffed animals from home, so that children can<br />
demonstrate what they are learning about animals through dramatic<br />
play. We have also been reading both fiction and nonfiction books<br />
about animals and watching video clips <strong>of</strong> the animals that we read<br />
about.<br />
Recently we took a field trip to the University <strong>of</strong> Veterinary and<br />
Zoology Studies. The children were able to observe and interact with<br />
animals such as cows, goats, pigs, and birds. It was a great hands-on<br />
experience to compliment what we have been working on in class.
