The St. Francis Xavier-Knights of Columbus are
interested in sponsoring a blood drive with the
American Red Cross. By hosting a blood drive,
the Knights of Columbus demonstrates its
commitment to community health needs while
helping to ensure that an adequate blood
supply is available at all times for anyone who
needs it. Also, by holding a blood drive, we are
hoping to offer our council members and fellow
parishioners a more convenient blood donation
opportunity.
If you are at least 17 years old (or 16 years old
with a signed Red Cross parental /guardian
consent form where state permits), weigh at
least 110 pounds and are in good health, you
may be eligible to give blood. High school
students and other donors 18 years old and
younger must also meet other height and
weight requirements.
Giving blood is safe, simple and helps save lives.
Each pint of blood that is donated may be
helping as many as three people. The American
Red Cross is the largest single provider of blood
in the country. They provide blood to 3,000
hospitals across the country. About 38,000
people need blood each day in the United
States. Those people count on volunteer donors
to give them a chance at life.
We would like to determine the level of interest
in inviting the American Red Cross into our
parish community. There will be a table in
the Gathering Space at Church the weekend
of June 22 / 23 for anyone to indicate their
interest. We will let you know if a blood drive
will be scheduled. Thank you in advance for

Catechetical Institute
just might be the
answer for you.
Registration for this fall's new Archbishop
Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute class, the
Class of St. Francis, has already begun and is
going well.
Now for the first time, the Catechetical Institute
will be able to accommodate more than 150
at the Church of The Epiphany in Coon Rapids.
This means they are extending the deadline
from June 1st to June 24th.
Join other Catholics around the Archdioceses
that are interested in taking their faith to the
next level. Who knows, it may be one of the
most important decisions of your life.

Sharing & Caring Hands
On Tuesday, June 25th, our parish
will prepare and serve a meal to
approximately 300 people at Sharing
& Caring Hands Shelter. The meal will
include: hamburger & rice hot-dish, buttered
bread, cole slaw, milk, cookies & bars.
Many hands are needed to help with this parish
outreach service. Mark the date on your
calendar now and watch the bulletin for further
details!
