QUIZ BOWL – Students interested in joining quiz bowl, please sign up outside room 216. Tryouts will be after<br />

school on Tuesday, October 23 rd and Thursday, October 25 th . Students should be picked up by 4:15 or take<br />

the activity bus home. You will need to attend both days of tryouts<br />

MAGAZINE PRIZES – The magazine prize distribution will take place during lunches on Wednesday,<br />

October 24 th .<br />

WRESTLING – Mr. Rice and Mr. Michaud are looking for the toughest kids in the school who want to compete<br />

in a combat sport. If you play football or just love contact sports, wrestling could be the sport for you. Come<br />

and find out why all the great MMA fighters in the UFC were former high school wrestlers. There will be an<br />

informational meeting on Thursday, October 25 th in room 214 during REM. All current wrestlers and students<br />

who are interested in learning more about this exciting sport should attend this meeting. Remember to sign out<br />

with your REM teacher and then report to Room 214 to watch some awesome wrestling action and to learn<br />

more about becoming a MT Wrestler.<br />

RED RIBBON WEEK – This week, October 22–26 is Red Ribbon Week. To observe the oldest and largest<br />

drug prevention campaign in the United States, we will be participating in the following activities:<br />

1. Decorate homeroom doors competition (cupcakes on the line).<br />

2. RED OUT Thursday, October 25 th wear red that day.<br />

Say NO to drugs!<br />

MOCK ELECTION – The Social Studies Department will be holding a mock election on Monday, October<br />

29 th . We want to know who our student body would elect for President! Social Studies classes will report to<br />

the school polling station during Social Studies classes on October 29th. See your Social Studies teacher if you<br />

have any questions!<br />

BASKETBALL FOR BOYS & GIRLS – The deadline for registration for the <strong>Manheim</strong> <strong>Township</strong> Recreation<br />

and Park Planning Department's Boys and Girls 7th and 8th Grade Baskebtall Leagues has been extended to<br />

Friday, November 2 nd . Applications are available in the Middle <strong>School</strong> office.<br />

WALL OF HONOR FOR VETERANS’ DAY – Middle <strong>School</strong> Social Studies teachers are collecting the<br />

names, dates of service, and branches of service information for community members to create a wall of honor<br />

for Veterans' Day. Please see your Social Studies teacher for more information and be sure to provide your<br />

names and service information to your teachers by Friday, November 2 nd .<br />

HOOP CLUB 3v3 TOURNAMENT – The 4 th annual <strong>Manheim</strong> <strong>Township</strong> Hoop Club 3v3 tournament is<br />

November 10 th . The registration deadline is Friday, November 2 nd . Flyers are available in the office.<br />
