Call to Worship (Psalm 98)
Leader: O sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things. His right hand
and his holy arm have gotten him victory.
People: He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.
Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and
sing praises.
People: Let the floods clap their hands; let the hills sing together for joy at the
presence of the Lord, for he is coming to judge the earth.
*Opening Hymn No. 142 All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name CORONATION
And crown Him Lord of all!
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all!
2. Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
Ye ransomed from the fall,
Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all!
Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all!

To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all!
To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all!
4. O that with yonder sacred throng
We at His feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all!
We’ll join the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all!
*Prayer of Confession
Gracious God, through the ages, people of faith have learned to walk in your ways.
Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every
weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that
is set before us, looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfection of our faith. Amen.
(A time of silence for personal confession)
Hymn No. 293 This Is My Father’s World TERRA BEATA
1. This is my Father’s world,
And to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world:
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought.
2. This is my Father’s world:
Oh, let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world:
The battle is not done;
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and heaven be one.
As the summer months are now upon us, when vacations and time away from home become more prevalent, we
Where: Bellefield Presbyterian Church,
Fifth Avenue in Oakland
What you can do: Donate useful household items
such as:
• Beds and bedding
• Small to moderatesized
surroundings in the U.S.
Every year the Garage Giveaway serves over
300 students from 30+ countries as their first
introduction to the United States and, for many, to
the love of Christ. Westminster has filled a 14-foot
truck for over 5 years!
Please consider the following important point:
Is each item genuinely useful? Would I give it to
my son or daughter to use for their university living
situation?
Please also recognize that this is P.R.I.S.M.’s
first contact with many newly arrived international
students. This service to them leaves a lasting
impression!
Volunteers are needed:
1. Set-up: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
(before the giveaway). Anytime between noon
and 8:00 p.m.
2. Drivers with pick-up trucks: to help transport
the international students to their apartments
with the items they select. This is an urgent
need and only requires a few hours of time
(9:00 a.m. to early afternoon) on the day of the
giveaway. It is a lot of fun.
3. Clean-up team: starting at 1:00 p.m.
For additional info, to request a pick-up of
larger items, OR TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP
in the coatroom near the elevator on the ground
Thursday afternoon, August 16, at donors’ homes.
