ANNOUNCEMENTSP.R.I.S.M. “Garage Giveaway”(Pittsburgh Regional International Student Ministries) for newly arrived international studentsWhen: Saturday, August 20, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.Where: Bellefield <strong>Presbyterian</strong> <strong>Church</strong> – on Fifth Avenue in OaklandWhat you can do: We are asking friends of P.R.I.S.M. to donate useful household items such as:• Beds and bedding• Cooking utensils• Towels• Dishes• Lamps• Desks• Small appliances• Small to moderate-sizedfurnitureThese items will be offered Free of Charge to new International students – most of whom are graduatescholars and many of whom are married – to set up housekeeping in their new surroundings in the U.S.Last year the Garage Giveaway served over 300 students from 32 countries as their first introduction to theUnited States – and for many – to the love of Christ. <strong>Westminster</strong> filled a 14-foot truck!Please consider the following important point:Is each item genuinely useful? Would I give it to my son or daughter to use for their university living situation?Please also recognize that this is P.R.I.S.M.’s first contact with many newly arrived international students. Weare looking for a facilitator for this fall WROC offering. You will learn andgrow yourself while helping others.Job: Mom to Mom class discussion facilitator. The course comes witha DVD and a manual that is complete with everything necessary to leadthe discussion. You will only need to read the questions that will getpeople thinking and talking.Commitment: Fall <strong>2011</strong>; Thursday mornings.Skills Needed: The ability to make others feel welcome; good listeningskills and a positive attitude.
