two charities being supported this year.
Special thanks and many
congratulations must
go to Amelia Ewen and
dedicated so much of their
time to organising this
event so professionally,
during the course of the
evening, it was a great
team effort!
Celia Pearson, Fenella Redding and
Sophie Griffin ordering their Christmas
Thanks too to Sally Stokes and Katharine Toogood, the
mouth-watering jam and chutney team, who also deserve
a very special mention as they raised over £1000 from the
sales of their delicious gingham-topped jars on the night.
note that all prizewinners will be notified by phone by
NOTES FROM THE HEAD
I have been advised by the Residents’ Association of St
Anthony’s Court (the flat block next door to No. 68) that
parents have been using their car park while dropping off
and picking up from school. I do ask that none of you use
this private space as a car park. The residents are within
their rights to have any illegally parked cars removed.
Mrs Carole Jenkinson – Head of Upper School
LOOFY SHOP NOTICE
We know that many of you are waiting for our delivery of
fleeces for both Northcote Lodge and Broomwood Hall. To
update you about the fleeces and other items on order:
Fleeces: Broomwood fleeces will be here in December.
Our supplier tells us that the Northcote fleeces are in an
airport in China waiting for a flight, but have not told us
when this might be.
Knickerbockers: These are due at the end of November.
Peter Pan collar white shirts: These are due in January.
Navy Cardigans: These will be in at the end of November.
Red Tracksuits: Sizes 30, 32 and 34 due mid November.
The schoolwear industry is being badly hit by the economic
climate and as a result they are not keeping stock of
anything and only make to order. We try our best to have
all sizes in stock but do sometimes run out as we cannot
predict the sizes your children will need.
While writing, I would like to forewarn you that unfortunately
we are going to have to raise our prices on some
items of uniform in January. This is due to the increase in
the price of cotton and some man-made fibres, some of
our suppliers have increased their prices by up to 20%. My
advice would be to come in and buy anything you know
you will need before the end of this term.
