Art Garden: Children’s Season / International Museum Day
Strengthening Singapore and France Cultural Alliances through Contemporary Art
Children and families learned more about the world around them through Art Garden, a
contemporary art show specially designed for the young and the young at heart. The exhibition was
part of International Museum Day and included learning activities, weekly workshops, film screenings
and an activity booklet specially designed for children.

On 20 May 2010, SAM and the Centre Pompidou signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) to enhance the development and showcase of contemporary art. The MOU was signed by
Mr. Tan Boon Hui, Director of SAM and Mr. Alain Seban, President of the Centre Pompidou, with
Ms. Jane Ittogi, Chair of SAM and H.E. Olivier Caron, Ambassador of the Republic of France to
Singapore, as witnesses to the signing. SAM and Centre Pompidou will co-organise and
co-curate the exhibition entitled Video. An Art, a History 1965-2010. A Selection from the Centre
Pompidou and Singapore Art Museum Collections. The exhibition will run from 27 May to 18
September 2011.
