Quicker than Ever!<br />

Opera<strong>to</strong>rs <strong>in</strong> the Control Room have excelled themselves<br />

<strong>in</strong> the past few months. Over 90% of 999 calls are<br />

now answered with<strong>in</strong> 10 seconds. Answer<strong>in</strong>g your calls<br />

faster means that we are able <strong>to</strong> react quickly <strong>to</strong> and<br />

deal with emergency situations that may arise anywhere<br />

<strong>in</strong> the county.<br />

You can help us improve our emergency call response<br />

even further by ensur<strong>in</strong>g you only dial 999 <strong>in</strong> an<br />

emergency. This number saves <strong>live</strong>s so it is vital<br />

it is only used for the proper purpose. People who r<strong>in</strong>g for<br />

anyth<strong>in</strong>g other than an emergency are ultimately putt<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>live</strong>s at risk.<br />

150th Anniversary Vehicle<br />

still on the road<br />

Designed dur<strong>in</strong>g the 150th anniversary year <strong>to</strong> allow staff <strong>to</strong><br />

engage with communities and raise awareness of polic<strong>in</strong>g<br />

issues, the 150th vehicle is still on the road reach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> all<br />

areas of the county. Provid<strong>in</strong>g a static display at locations<br />

vary<strong>in</strong>g from schools <strong>to</strong> <strong>to</strong>wn squares as well as appearances<br />

at local events, the vehicle offers the opportunity for the<br />

public <strong>to</strong> talk <strong>to</strong> police officers and PCSOs about their<br />

concerns and receive valuable <strong>in</strong>formation on protect<strong>in</strong>g their<br />

homes and posessions as well as safety advice. Keep your<br />

eye out for the vehicle and take the time <strong>to</strong> check out the<br />

useful <strong>in</strong>formation it conta<strong>in</strong>s.<br />
