your consideration. The Consent Calendar Resolutions shall be published in the Post Board Action
Agenda and Journal of Proceedings as prepared by the Clerk of the Board.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Mother Theodore Guerin High School, located in River Grove, Illinois, salutes the
Honorable Thomas Tarpey, President of the Village of River Grove, at its “Guerin Gala” on April 7,
2000; and
WHEREAS, President Thomas Tarpey is so honored for his many years of support of Mother Theodore
Guerin High School and the hundreds of fine young women it educates annually; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Tarpey is a life-long resident of River Grove and has admirably served as its
Village President for the past fifteen years; and
WHEREAS, President Tarpey has long been a staunch supporter of Mother Theodore Guerin High
School and is the father of two Guerin alumnae.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Board of Commissioners of Cook
County does hereby congratulate Village President Thomas Tarpey on this well deserved tribute and
applaud him for his contributions to the school and the community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this Resolution be prepared for presentation to
the Honorable Thomas Tarpey as evidence of the esteem in which he is held by this Honorable Body and
the citizens of Cook County.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Mother Theodore Guerin High School, located in River Grove, Illinois salutes the Reverend
Monsignor Kenneth Velo at its “Guerin Gala” on April 7, 2000; and
WHEREAS, Monsignor Kenneth Velo is so honored for his support of Mother Theodore Guerin High
School and the hundreds of fine young women it educates annually; and
WHEREAS, Monsignor Velo is a dedicated priest with the Archdiocese of Chicago and a respected
community leader; and
WHEREAS, Monsignor Velo was appointed President of the Catholic Extension Society in 1994; and
WHEREAS, Monsignor Kenneth Velo has served on the Mother Theodore Guerin Circle of Leaders and,
on occasion, celebrates mass for the school community.
