page 7 POST BOARD ACTION AGENDA Meeting of April 5, 2000 CONTRACTS ITEM #21 APPROVED Transmitting a Communication from DONALD P. O’CONNELL, Chief Judge, Circuit Court of Cook County requesting authorization for the Purchasing Agent to enter into contracts with Procare Centers of Broadview, Illinois (Procare) and Human Resources Development Institute, Inc., Chicago, Illinois (HRDI), for drug treatment services in conjunction with the Adult Drug Treatment Initiative in the Criminal Division, Circuit Court of Cook County. Reason: Procare and HRDI provide court-mandated treatment to participants in the Adult Drug Treatment Initiative, a diversionary program that replaces incarceration with treatment and rehabilitation. The goal of the initiative is to reduce substance abuse and criminal activity. Contract services include substance abuse treatment, detoxification, random drug screening, group and individual counseling, residential treatment, health education and aftercare services. Procare and HRDI provided these services to the Criminal Division’s Adult Treatment Initiative under previous contracts. These contracts were funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs. Estimated Fiscal Impact: None. Grant funded amount: $88,000.00 (HRDI - $76,000.00 and Procare - $12,000.00). Contract period: May 1, 2000 through September 30, 2001. (817-272 Account). Requisition Nos. 08174001 and 08174002. ITEM #22 APPROVED Transmitting a Communication from * * * * * TERRY A. STECZO, Deputy Assessor for Administration & Intergovernmental Relations requesting authorization for the Purchasing Agent to enter into a contract with the Government Assistance Program (GAP), Chicago, Illinois, to conduct six half-day sessions with thirty-four (34) leadership participants in basic leadership skills and in facilitating office change teams to successfully implement the reorganization in the Assessor’s Office. GAP facilitators will conduct three (3) additional sessions with participants to learn higher level concepts of supervision and management and to check the progress of reorganization within various divisions. Reason: The GAP, headquartered at DePaul University, has assisted the Assessor’s Office with management training progress in the past. Because of their integral knowledge of the office and its work functions, we have selected them to assist in training and facilitation with regard to our office-wide reorganization.
